My moms left vocal cord got paralyzed, she had to get 2 in rubber piece put in her vocal cord so she doesn't choke and her voice goes back to normal.

My teacher a few years back had a paralyzed vocal chord from throat surgery and after a couple years he was back to normal. Everyone’s different but maybe there’s hope! (The rasp is kinda cool tho) Been missing Man VS ____ videos, so I’m glad you’re back!

@@isabelchmontuenga I don't think it's a bad thing as long as he legitimately wants to do it as opposed to feels obligated before he's ready. But we can't know that. Just grateful he's here to make his own decisions about what he can handle either way and hope that he continues to heal.

Fun fact!!: I was born 3 months premature. Because of having a breathing tube for so long I also have a paralyzed vocal cord! I constantly get asked if I'm okay or why I talk so quietly. I often wonder what I would sound like if both of my vocal cords worked. But at the end of the day I'm just grateful to be alive and that I have a voice. Thanks for the video Rob! -Lexi P.s. If you ever figure out how to "fix" it, I would love to watch a video on it. (Also, I'm 18 so I don't think they could reverse mine.)

Lexi Look up semi occluded vocal tract therapy! It’s used by speech and language therapists for many voice disorders including paralysed vocal cords. The fun part is it mostly involves blowing bubbles with a straw in water but is very effective.

Some people are candidates for a procedure that adds bulk to the paralyzed cord which can improve the voice. It's pretty straightforward and any ear nose throat surgeon can do it. Can't hurt to find out if you haven't already.
