Thank YOU so, so much. I discovered that I'd been making the same mistake as many - lower looper thread under the upper looper! I can now use my machine the way it was supposed to be used and finally take on some of those projects I'd been avoiding. Have a great day!

I have an old Bernina serger. This video was SO SO helpful, especially your explanation about how the lower looper thread MUST be over the upper looper to work! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Your videos are great. My wife is teaching me how to sew and we just purchased two Baby Lock Triumphs(starting our own business).They are amazing machines, but I personally want a little challenge in threading a serger. I know... that does sound crazy but I feel I was never initiated into the serger world without ever having to thread one. The Triumphs were our first sergers. My local Bernina dealer has a L460 for about $750 (certified pre owned). In your opinion, is that a good price? Are people happy with their L460? Thank you

Thank you for this video! I have a Bernina 800dl serger which is only 4.5 years old and is in a very good shape. I was thinking about upgrading to L460 so it is interesting for me to compare both machines. This one has many more possibilities but the threading is almost the same as on my 800DL which is good to know. Thanks again!

The L460 is similar to the 800dl but quite different too. So the motor in the L460 is a much smoother running motor easier to control, also has the knee lift which is very helpful, but whats GREAT about the L460 is it has the Micro Thread Control which makes is super easy to fine tune the tensions without adjusting the thread tensions. Also threading is a little easier because the needle always stops in the up position and there is a window that shows you the optimum threading position. So the L460 would be quite an upgrade. :) If you have any more questions just let me know. :)

@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 Thank you so much for your reply and for additional info. I really appreciate it. I understand that the L460 has a DC motor and a nice Bernina sewing machine foot pedal, which is very nice. And the knee lever is an awesome feature. I like using it on my sewing machines. Considering all the features L460 has, it is actually quite cheap compared to sergers from other brands. May I ask you two questions: How is the lighting on the L460? Is it any better than on the 800dl? Also, can you please tell me if there is a transparent foot available for the L460 as an extra accessory? The foot on my serger is bulky and obscuring the view but they don’t make a transparent foot for it. I love using a transparent 34 foot on my sewing machines. In fact, this foot gets the most usage together with the straight stitch foot #13. Thank you!

Curious if anyone might know why the thread continues to comes out of the right needle? Any suggestions would be very helpful- repaired twice already! Not a lot of Bernina support with this issue

What would be another reason that the red light would be on and the machine wouldn't sew? The doors are shut with the foot pedal connected. :(
@sewingwithcodyandpete86513 жыл бұрын
The two reason for a red light (doors open, and pressure foot up). However if both of those things are done and light is still on it could be a loose interior wire. We just had a 460 in with that exact problem. So the tech had to fix it.
