Always remember to place lower looper thread above or over the upper looper thread before sewing.

Dear Sara, thanks for that tip. However, if you do not place the lower looper thread over the upper looper arm, your machine will do it for you with the first stitch. Especially since the needles and loopers are up after threading, the machine has easily time to do it for the first stitch, especially when building a chain to check threading and tensions. We have deleted that tip in manuals and videos, because people were confused about that info and placed the lower looper thread between upper looper arm and upper looper thread... a thing that will not be an issue any longer thanks to air threader machines anyway. Dear Gail, there is no BERNINA 204 overlock machine that we know of. Can you please be more specific about the name and type of your machine? Maybe it is a Janome sewing machine? If this is the case, please get in touch with Janome.

Not clear - I only understood this because I have the 1150. Also, why do you show a coverstitch hem at the end when the overlocker cannot accomplish this? If you're looking for info on the Bernina serger, the best video is by SaraSnuggerud of Heirloom Creations.

Dear EuphemiaGrubb, Thanks for your feedback. You are right, of course. The pictures of the red dress show the coverstitch in focus which could be misleading. The side seam with 4-thread overlock on the same picture is not clearly visible. The video, however, ends with a wide 4-thread overlock in loose knitwear. We will try to be more clear with our future videos in order to avoid confusion. Kind regards from Steckborn
