First time playing with a Beall wood threading kit. Video shows the first setup and use. Also some ideas of how to make the tap handles in the instructions and a couple crank handles. Here is a Amazon link amzn.to/2FNz6bl using this link will generate a small commission to help support my channel

It is a fun tool to have. Finding affordable round dowels is the biggest problem now. Thanks for watching.

I have had a set of those for a while and really like them. You are right about the wood being too soft. I use hardwood like maple and yellow birch and they produce crisp threads.

I have been wanting one for years. I can't wait to try some good dowels, the only dowels I had were old soft undersized leftovers but they let me see what it can do. Thanks for watching.

It works great. The dowels that Beall sells give really nice results. Thanks for watching.

I've written to them about the dowel. In Australia all dowel is measured in millimeters, so I need to know what tolerance there is in the Delrin inserts for something that may not be exactly 5/8" or 1.5". Hoping that a little wiggle room still works okay.

They have to be fairly close and round to work with it. A metric version may be a great new product for them.

The reply I received from Mr Beall is that "our threaders will not accommodate metric dowels". I'll need to consider alternatives.

Thanks, I am starting to get better results with a little extra light. I can still only process at 30p because my computer has a hard time with 60p so now I have to save up for a faster system for even better results. Still trying to workout the auto focus settings. Thanks for watching .

Maybe a diy wood snow blower.....sorry maybe a sore subject, but after your last vids and now wood threading, first thing that came to mind.

After the results I got from it yesterday it was a choice of this or snowblower video, it worked for an hour good and then started slipping again. I decided to move on and get back to non depressing videos. Trying to catch up on shop time. Thinking about making the blower its own channel so I don't have to post those videos here.

Surely to make perfect threads on the dowel, you just need a dowel of the right diameter (the diameter of the bottom of the thread) to pop into the jig so that you can then put the router in at the precise depth.

The right material and diameter should give amazing results. Once I make my cnc lathe it should be easy to make good dowels. Thanks for watching.

Nice setup. Unaware of this jig. Thanks for the enlightenment. Saw your workshop tour. Super organized. You have a lot of stuff. Are you able to easily find something when you need it such as this jig? I bet you spend a lot of time organizing! I spend way too much time finding things,

After years of searching I am finally trying to make a place for all the commonly used tools and now try to keep all the parts and accessories together. I used to just have piles everywhere and not much useable space on the bench. Thanks for watching.

I just bought the 1 1/2 insert and tap can't wait to make some big bolts! Do you sell the handles you made?
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 6 жыл бұрын
It is great they made the starter set big enough to accept the larger size inserts. I don't sell anything, but as you can see they are easy to make if you use the plan sheet from Beall as a guide. All you need is a small piece of 3/4" maple. Have fun making big bolts. Thanks for watching.
