I play small buy in games around the city i live in so most of the time im playing with very in experienced players (including myself) If i three barreled bluffed and my opponent had Aces i dont think he/she would have the poker brain to read a better hand than what i have or they would just called on the basis that they have called the entire hand and would hope to get lucky. Unfortunately i dont think this would work in the amateur relm...
@mpolityka827 жыл бұрын
Probably it wouldn't work. First you have to play against player who is capable of laying down top pair, second you have to build good image in his eyes to be able to bluff him this way (Daniel mentioned it he seldom use 3 barrel bluff).

Raising J7s from the hj in a tournament and then 3barrel bluffing with 0 equity in a spot where you have other much better bluffs is absolutely not "by the book." Other than using range advantage, this was not a good play. From a exploitative view it can be more ok, but it's still silly to try to see this as "by the book" because it absolutely isn't.
@24magiccarrot6 жыл бұрын
+josexavier1997 Whilst it wouldn't be considered optimum play, it's a play that ought to be in your playbook to be used sparingly especially if you are going to be spending a lot of time with the same players. Your opponent needs to know you can bluff on a board like that, so that on the occasions where you do have a Straight or a set that you have a chance of getting paid. If on an a board with A,K,Q if you only bet when you have a good hand it becomes too easy for your opponent to fold, and you don't want to be bluffing like this with your hands that have some showdown value. Although Daniel knew he was behind that was a scary board for most of his opponents range, his opponent almost never has a big pocket pair or AK AQ, it becomes very difficult to call three barrels with Ace weak kicker or any King even some 2 pairs or trip 4's would struggle to call on that board so Daniel is getting a lot of fold equity. Daniel whilst loose pre-flop isn't really known for air bluffing especially on the river.

He raised 2000 I called River was 8 he bet 3500 I called. He had ace king.. I just somehow knew in my head that he was bluffing me. JonBenait06 Ok, that's one way of looking at things. What most people mean when they say the "good decision" is what usually wins them the pot, since you can never be sure about whether you will win (unless you have the nuts) and you can only make calculated guesses. The "best" guess is what is usually considered the good decision.

Hi Daniel, The following happened playing multiple cash games simultaneously on PokerStars: I'm involved in a hand where i hold the nuts, I go to an other table to fold the hand I have just been dealt. As I am about to press the fold button the table switches to my other hand, because I'm to act, thereby I accidentally folded my hand holding the nuts! This can cost one quite some money since I had already invested a fair share of my stack in the hand. A feature which only allows you to press buttons after a second of having switched tables could have prevented this from happening. I hope you and the PokerStars team will improve the PokerStars interface with such a feature, since I am not the first person this has happened to I would imagine.

While I don't think this combo makes a good flop cbet (especially 3 way) Something that you failed to mention that does make this combo an ok hand to keep firing on (once you have made the flop bet - which is a mistake) is the fact that you have a J, this is important is it reduces the combos of Isaacs best top pair hands that he is likely to call BU v CO with (AJ) and then call,call,call and also blocks the nuts on the river, which is a hand he floats floats flop with (JTs). Overall though this play isn't going to profitably with this combo long term as part of an overall strategy.

@Samurai316317 жыл бұрын
Caio Lucio Sorry for The "cop out", but It depends on The game. If It's deep stacked, It can be effective. The idea of small ball is To risk a little To take small pots, frusterate your opponents To The point you get paid off when you do hit. It's better To learn The basics (ABC poker) And develope your playstyle from there. As you play stronger opponents, your ability To adapt is What will give you The edge. Learn The basics first, then mix things in like small ball. Fyi, small ball is easy to learn, but hard To master...

Pretty much perfect river bluff. You block AJ which is his best Ace, probably. You don't block clubs. Turn value bets are AQ+? You have all AK, sets, AQ,KQ, all A4s. That's about 25 combos when oppo has an A or K. Add in your river bluffs (about 10 for that sizing) gives 35, so you can bluff about 25 combos, slightly more if u pick hands with equity. What good bluffs with equity do you have? JT/35s/your flush draws/backdoor diamonds: 57/78. That seems like enough hands so I suspect you are exploitably over bluffing by adding in this 0 equity bluff. If the flop was AK6 and the turn a 2, you'd have fewer semi-bluffs available so the turn barrel with J7s would be more reasonable.

This is a pretty easy ch/f on the flop, just see what's our hand. It's ok, you have range advantage, but I really prefer ch/f-ing this holding without any BDFD. I have no idea there was ICM pressure or not, but Haxton has river raise with this holding, he has the best blockers on straights, two pairs, set of aces, however it's close, coz it's true, he has not many of values.
