These breathing exercises are great for calming anxiety! I had a job interview this morning and could feel I was starting to panic. My mind jumped to these breathing exercises, which I've been practicing for my singing lessons, and having the illustrated countdowns and controlled exhalations really helped me so much

Yes, they are great for anxiety and everyday life, as many of my students have discovered. I hope you get the job!

Should you inhale with your nose or mouth?

Either way is Ok, which ever is more efficient for you. If you have a deviated septum then probably mouth.

What's suspend again?? Is it holding my breath?
@DotsSinging2 жыл бұрын
Have a look at the this video and it's full description and comments: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kImxgGt4mpmEbLs This is part of the description about Suspending: "Suspend means to keep the ribcage in an expanded position, not allowing it to collapse. Basically it means staying in the inspiratory position for longer. During the suspension there should be no tension in the throat. The vocal folds are completely relaxed (meaning you could still breathe in and out). Don't hold your breath, by closing the throat i.e. as in bearing down to lift something, keep the throat open. The suspension causes the diaphragm to ascend slower than usual, creating a steady stream of air. This is the secret to singing long phrases."
