zweig - If anybody thinks rock is violent it’s because they’ve never heard it before. Best genre by far, I used to be a hip hop head, thought rock was satanic or something because of the stereotypes people have on rock.Its actually the opposite, lyrics in Rock music are some of the most inspiring. Mostly about overcoming tough situations, loving people around you and having a good time.

This song was used in my brother's memorial after he committed suicide. he'd be 34 today. Happy Birthday Jer, I'm sorry I couldn't save you. EDIT: To everyone that has responded, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. I didn't expect this to blow up like it did, I just wrote it when i was in a dark place. I'm doing a lot better now, it still hurts but not as much as it did. Thank you for your kind words they really mean a lot and they have helped. Take of yourselves tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, remember that you're valued, loved, and worth it. God bless. EDIT 2: Thanks again for all the nice comments again. I just want to add something that I read recently. "You want to die? Then throw yourself into the sea and you'll see yourself fighting to survive. You do not want to kill yourself, rather you want to kill something inside of you." Please, find a way to kill that thing inside you without it killing you too. Thank you

My uncle died this September 1. He was buried a few days ago and during his funeral, my grandmother (his aunt) cried so much and fainted. In the past few days, I've been thinking to end my life. But after I've seen people's reaction when their love one's die, I feel so selfish. Remember, having something to loose is what makes life worth living for. As long as I have my family, I will continue living.
@caseypooo3 ай бұрын
I am so sorry about your lose, but thinking about ending it isn't selfish. You were in the deep end, and I'm glad you found a reason to pull through. I've known many people who've wanted to endiit(and have),it's a common thing in my family too weirdly. It's most definitely never the answer, but never try and bash on yourself for thinking that way, everyone goes through tough times, I hope you and your family heal that must have been so tragic. I know you said you will live for your family but always keep that in mind if you ever think about it, there's always at least one person in this world who cares 🫶!!

When we are in pain, we go to see a doctor to help find the cause of the pain on an internal level, a diagnosis then a treatment plan. The same can be said for the pain we feel mentally, you need help, a professional to give you the tools you need to fight this darkness, this pain you feel. A wound unattended is vulnerable to infection & complication, action is needed, steps need to be taken. You can feel better, you can be happy, you can walk, one step at a time to reach the peace and happiness you deserve, the peace and happiness those who care about you, want for you.

This song has a powerful message and it took me 10 years to figure it out: it's about this schizophrenic girl who was molested by her father and is on permanent bed rest because of the horrors she has encountered as a child and she often had thoughts of suicide hence in the song they say "still I hear you say you want to end your life" the birdman who is represented in this is her "guardian angel" in her mind but in reality it's either a cop or an actual guardian angel or even the devil punishing her father

Hope can be a terrifying thing - and living in pain even more so. Just keep in mind that you have nothing to lose chasing down hope - even when it is out of sight. You have everything to lose by dying - and the pain? it doesn't go away. The pain is passed on to the people you leave behind, the person that may find you after the fact and the one person you could have made happy one day if only you'd not given up.

I heard the singer wrote this for his wife who was a victim of childhood sexual abuse. I can't hear this without thinking about my own trauma but I praise the man who brought awareness to not only his wife's suffering but many of our horrible pains that we keep buried deep within. This helps to bring healing as we know it's not too late For us to find peace. We are alive because that angel fought for us.

The meaning of this song and the video - that even trauma doesn't have to be the end, that life is still beautiful - is such a powerful one, especially given that the video is about a woman coping with being sexually abused as a child. There are people close to me who face that struggle - right now, it's so hard for them to see that they can live happy lives in spite of the trauma. Please pray for them. Their lives are beautiful and worth living, and so are yours. Our experiences are not our identity. We all have brokenness, but that does not make us broken. We are more.

This song starts out with a young girl happy with her life, dancing around in a circle. This shows them as one big happy family. When her parents leave the man with the sweater comes in and she has no one else so she trusts him. It shows the girl's parents with tape over their eyes to show that they can't see the pain she is going through. The woman being taken by the nurses is the little girl as a woman. She is being brought into an insane asylum because the pain of the days when the sweater man had molested her were too painful and brought her to try and commit suicide. The hands that are holding the woman down are the molester's hands because what he did brought her there. It keeps showing the little girl and they are the memories of the woman's innocence of childhood and how it was taken away. The black hand prints you see show that she was touched everywhere by the sweater man because you see the black ink on his hands. The winged man attacking the sweater man is not a demon as so many others have stated. He is her guardian angel and is attacking the molester (or sweater man) to protect her. As the guardian angel wins feathers start to fall on both the little girl and the woman showing that she is free from this memory of the molester. The woman walks away, smiling, not held down anymore because her guardian angel has freed her.

This song is not about rape in specific. This just depicts the point in a way most can understand..only a few understand to the furthest extent. This shows a woman experiencing pain from a past trauma (rape) the point this is trying to get to is it's never too late to rid your demons, to let go of the things tearing at you. You dont have to let things tear you down forever. You don't have to let the demons stay in this house you've locked your real self in. You aren't the only thing living in that house, the other main entity is fear among others. To move on you need to open the doors, let out those demons, but doing so opens up a world of vulnerability. You must experience this vulnerability to move past and conquer these demons. The past nor future defines you. You define you, 100% of the time.

Awesome gamer haha, could of guessed that exact scenario. I started understanding things such as this video after I hit my point about 6 months ago. I was actually just about to say I'm working on making a youtube channel to get out all the things I've learned after I hit that point, it's the exact same world just at a different angle. my goal with the channel would be to get across things like this video, things most people just don't have the words for. If I'm able to get to a few people among however many may watch them, I've succeeded. we're all on this earth just trying to be ok and it sucks that mist the population doesn't seem to realize it, blinded by their own problems to notice anyone elses.
@AceNizzle8 жыл бұрын
Essentially by being at that point your forced into either giving up, or releasing those demons. What I was trying to get at is, more specifically, you don't have to get to that point to release your demons, get to that point and fight through and you'll see. Once you learn it for yourself you will change forever.
@MsMoniqueColls4 жыл бұрын
I used to listen to this song when I was younger because I related to the little girl. I never realized this song would end up depicting the very moments that changed my life. My dad found my mom dead on the couch after she took a bunch of pills. She was in a coma for 6 days. Extensive brain damage to her frontal lobe. The doctors wanted to take her off life support, but we asked them to keep her on for one more day; for her sister to get an emergency flight and say goodbye. She woke up the following afternoon. 7 years later, and instead of being 6 feet under, she's comfortable in her bed right down the hall. I got lucky. This is a poem I wrote regarding that situation. Thanks to anyone who reads this. Much love - we're in this together. -- Her world was always filled with anger Her mother was a garden godess, while her father was the alcohol banger. As a child, she was the favourite, her brother in the backround, but everynight he'd be the target and she wouldn't make a single sound, just listen to what she thought she should be around. Her mother was the saviour, the glue to the mess, she always told them " live life to the best " As an angel should, one flew away, while things at home turned day by day. Everynight fights would occur and she couldn't conquer why this was happening to her. The world was persistant, they said "Moe, stay optimistic, keep your head high, you will survive" So she did and grew up fast but surely enough happiness wouldn't last. One cold night was all it took, mom even wrote them little books, " I could not take the pain, I love you dearly. Always look straight, vision clearly " For seven days she slept but we all kept hope that she would awake, cause that's just fate. Having hope pays off when you have no way to cope, she finally awoke, no more tears and chokes. Karmas a bitch, and she can never forget it, no more working late nights or shoppin' with credit. When she's down, no more being alone, momma can't even feel normal in her own home. With a destroyed liver, the fathers the caregiver. The children are fine, they take don't offensive, they knew it was her only defense. We grew up strong, we grew up fast, happiness we learned through our tortured past. Always remember live to the fullest, and never forget, dodge lifes fuckin' bullets.

Abby Baer Yeah. The burden that they *feel* they are, not the burden they *actually* are. And in many cases, they're not burdens at all. Rather, these people that get that far into depression are usually the ones that are valued above all else by their families. *Unless of course, those families are either abusive or the family of Hitler, but that's beside the point.*

Your life is not over. The things you enjoyed in the past were nice for you ok. now you can not do exactly the same things. But you can still enjoy moments, your life, just like you did before. It is wise to look at and enjoy things you CAN do and not what you can not. Trust me, there is far more things to explore and enjoy that you imagined before. You are already stronger than many other people, since they can not imagine in anyway how it might be to be handicapped (physically or mentally) in any way. There is no guide or something to life. Do what you want and what you have to to achieve that. Actually staying alive in whatever shit situation life may throw at you makes you much stronger than most people. Trust me. To anyone who says that people who commit suicide or have suicidal thoughts are weak: it’s not as simple as that. Sometimes our minds go places that we can’t control. It’s not as easy as being strong. All it takes is one event and then even someone with the strongest of wills can find themselves falling into a pit of despair that doesn’t seem to have an exit. Nothing is black and white. And suicidal thoughts doesn’t mean that your weak it means that something in your life is causing you great anguish. The truly weak people are the ones that spread hate and anger and non-acceptance. I hope that anyone who says it is weak never has to experience what those thoughts are like. At the same time I hope that some of them will one day understand.

I nearly cried while reading this comment. Thank you so much for saying that. Suicidal thoughts are not fun, and it's just horrible when nobody takes you seriously. People who spread hate to those with depression and suicidal thoughts are only making everything worse. People who say 'You're faking it. You're not depressed, no depressed person would want help. You just want attention, and you aren't going to get it" are only making life worse for those people. I told the person I trusted most in the world about my suicidal thoughts and she laughed at me. She said I was faking it. That was the first time I tried to open up to someone face-to-face in about 4 years. I don't want to call her weak for saying that to me, though. I feel like I'm truly weak all the time, but reading your comment gave me a sense of hope. The feeling that I'm not weak, but STRONG for at least trying to fight my demons. Once again, THANK YOU. You don't know how much this comment is helping other people out there. Have an AMAZING rest of your day/night, you truly deserve it.

2012. Lost my job. Was on a relationship, she stayed with me though I told her to leave away as I thought I couldn't afford her and she would be unhappy. For months I tried to keep my mind alive. On a cold calm winter morning, I woke up @ 05.00, she was still sleeping next to me. I listened one more time to this song and I left. Walked few meters away my house. The subway passes by and there is a bridge above. Hold myself tight, looked at the sun and I knew the time has come. She walked all the way behind me. She said "I will always love you, don't leave me". It was the crack that brought me back to life.. I was 30. Love from Greece 🇬🇷. Cause of this song I am still alive 🙏🏻
