My friend is dead now. A old man. He was born here and as a small boy he learned the sea. He and his dad were fishing in a small boat and a fast hard storm almost killed them as they ran for their life. Welcome to the ocean. He traveled his whole life. WW2 was a blip. I miss you old friend.

Amazing video Jeb, as usual! The Faroe islands remind me so much of the Scottish outer Hebrides, and with Barra there with it's beach/sand runways, think it could be up there as a potential future trip! Totally agree with you about leaving the camera behind to capture some memories for yourselves, well said.

Yes, you've found a gorgeous place to film this stunning video, but ... your narrative and film skills are developing beautifully. I haven't watched you for a while, and your progress is a "leaps and bounds" process. Well done, both of you. And thanks.

These islands are one of the most magical places in the world. Spent a few days there about 5 years ago. So laid back, so awesome. Went to Mykines by boat….have NEVER seen this many birds in my life….incl. thousands of puffins!!! Let’s keep the Faroes hard to get to 🤫 🇨🇦

Stunning, really stunning....In regards to the last part of the video... I actually told my wife the same thing a few days ago, we were at a concert, she was recording it, watching the whole thing on her screen. I told her to put away the phone and just enjoy the show, on the way back to the hotel she thanked me.

We've been to the Faroes twice. Absolutely stunning. Love the people, love the food, love the sheep, love the scenery, love the one-way tunnels, undersea tunnels, off-roading. Atlantic Airways is awesome - I love that everyone on the plane usually knows each other, and they're all super friendly to tourists. Stepping off the plane onto the tarmac and breathing that fresh air - there's nothing like it. It's beautiful any time of year since it stays pretty temperate - even in winter. I almost don't want to tell people about it because relatively low tourism numbers compared to somewhere like Iceland are part of the charm haha. We were planning a trip this fall to go a third time, but found out that our favorite restaurant was doing a pop-up in Greenland, so we went there instead. Also an amazing place to visit (and Air Greenland is a fantastic airline with some awesome airports) but we'll be back to the Faroes in the next couple of years, I'm sure. We even tried to move there, but the Danish govt recently enacted a law that requires doctors to speak Danish - even though they don't speak Danish on the Faroes, the rule still applies. Huge bummer.

i am very happy that you are respectable tourists that follow the paths while hiking, couse in the faroe islands we had to lockdown an island for tourists couse the grassy ground was turning into mud making sheep unable to eat in the area.

Great video! I note the pronunciation of the towns & places is a bit off, (Vágar is "vouh-are", Tórshavn "Tors-haun", but the pronunciaton for Kalsoy, Tjørnuvík, and Saksun are pretty much spot on!) but I, and probably most of my countrymen, appreciate you spreading awareness. If ever you decide to visit in the stormy seasons, remember: the rain/snow here does not fall downwards.

Spent a week this summer on the Faroe Islands it is by far one of the most breathtaking in all of Europe!! If you are a Lighthouse lover like I am be sure to visit Kalsoy Island to Kallur Lighthouse it is by far 'otherworldly' the hike was steep very windy but worth it all in the end!!! I hope to visit one day again!!!

Great content Jeb, what a unique land. It's my understanding that the climate is temperate considering the lat/longs due to the gulf stream current that is directly it it's path. Cheers

Hi Jeb and Suzanne. I certainly don't blame you for keeping some of your holiday on the 3rd island to yourselves ! It is such a unique landscape, I absolutely love the buildings with grass roofs. Environmentally friendly, for sure. A great way to insulate against the weather extremes. Gotta hand it to the Vikings of old, in many ways ahead of their times !

Great video - I like that you're dabbling more into these adventure style formats. This one felt very personal for you and I think the lack of filming yourself and commenting on the spot reflected that. I also appreciate you voting for yourself and putting the camera away for part of the journey. Lean into both those more!

Amazing video Jeb! Being from the Faroe Islands myself, I don't always notice the beauty we have.. Saksun, which is about 8 km from my house, is my favorite place on the islands. Hope to see you again on the islands! Btw impressive pronounciations of the names with very few flaws!

Thanks for confirming Jeb's pronunciation, Janus. Some of the place names look like tongue tanglers, so it's good to know we can follow Jeb's example should we have future opportunities to talk about the Faroe Islands. 🙃
