BEAUTIFUL! When I decoupage with napkins I use parchment paper and a small craft iron to smooth out wrinkles, be it on a vase, flower pot, canvas, even a greeting card. It works beautifully. Thanks for this video.

I really appreciated this video with putting the roses on a terra cotta pot 😊 as I have different sizes of the pots and will enjoy making a set of them. Thank you 😊

These pots were a great result especially with the red on the rim as well. Hope you have a great time making yours Ginny.

The plastic sheets make a huge difference where wrinkles are concerned. I use the cheaper ones because they’re thinner and easier to work with. Thank you for this video! 😊

I agree Alice the thinner ones are easier to work with, more flexibility on the curved surface.

That’s a great water method, tfs! I think I actually prefer the look of the large pot, it has a more handmade look 💜 rather than a manufactured appearance.

Yes that's why I showed both methods and the close ups, everyone has different taste and it is always good to have options.

Lovely! What do use to waterproof the pot in order to plant live plants? I LOVE the red roses! 😊
@judywest-thepaintingnana94343 ай бұрын
I use a clear sealer inside and out to prevent water from seeping into the terracotta and lifting the paint and napkins from the surface. The pot is then no longer porous and is more suitable for indoor use or display. It depends which country you are in what clear sealer you use.

Great tutorial. Just one question. How does the napkin not tear when you put the glue on top? I've never used the water method, but whenever I glue a napkin to a surface and then put glue on top, the napkins tear. On the first pot it looks like you added the glue while the napkin was still wet. What's the secret 😀?
@judywest-thepaintingnana94347 ай бұрын
I am using a soft bristle brush and am very careful as the napkin is fragile when wet. The glue is watered down so that it is less likely to tear the napkin. If there are wrinkles do not try to push them out as this will tear the napkin, you need to leave them there. I am not sure what else to tell you. Good luck Chris.

Beautiful. Do you think these would be okay to put in a screened in patio?
@judywest-thepaintingnana94342 жыл бұрын
The only thing I would worry about there Diana is direct sunlight, as sunlight fads colours even in the most expensive products. The vanish I use has some UV protection but I would still put it away from direct sunlight just to be careful.

Man, why cant I get the water method to work?! It never works for me and I dont know why. They are all very beautiful Judy. :o)

I have a private group on Facebook Sherry called Craft Connect, ask to join and I will let you in. Then you can ask me more questions about the water method if you like and perhaps we can work out why it is not working for you.
