Bought a used L4740 for my horse farm and absolutely love it. Tons of power for brush hogging, running a PTO chipper and plenty of weight/size for moving round bales or dragging the box blade around the driveway.

On our farm I needed loader capacity to lift, stack, and carry heavy round bales. I couldn't afford a grand L tractor. So I went with an L4701 (now it is a L4702). It has the lift capacity we needed for the price we could afford. It is a great tractor. It is also a pretty large tractor.

We really appreciate your videos out here Neil. Always great information and you helped me decide what tractor to get when I bought mine 5 years ago.

Choosing to go with the L4060LE over with L3902 was a great decision. I love the machine. I didn’t think I would care much for the HST+ transmission but boy was I wrong! The HDS is so useful on my hilly property. My tractor is always in Low gear where I live but being able to shift down to Low/Low while approaching a drop without having to stop to change gears is great! The extra weight of the larger machine helps me bang out the gravel road to my private neighborhood in no time. I can resurface the whole road in an hour or two with my land plane versus all day with my neighbors 1025R. I can’t wait to start clearing out some of my land!

At the time I bought, the Grand L 3560 with the 805 loader was only about $3k more than the 3901. I didn't even consider the 3560, because I assumed it was way out of my price range. Little did I know... Hoping to upgrade to a 3560 when the time is right. The bigger size of the 3560 might make it tough to do what I do and fit where I need to fit, but the creature comforts, quieter HST and increased lift capacity front and back will be well worth it.

Be wary clearing land with these tractors. They are not designed to work in rough conditions, they are designed to work on fairly clear fields. A stick thrown up by a tyre could puncture a filter or snap a line and ruin your day. Take it easy and slow, be aware as much as possible of what is going on. I have a larger MX5200 tractor and it is vulnerable to sticks and rocks.

@ I will keep that in mind. Most of the heavy duty clearing I have to do is in the corners of the lot that my home is on. I’ll be yanking small trees and moving the bigger ones that I cut down with my grapple. So the tractor will be in areas that are already cleared. We do have a couple of lots that are extremely overgrown and there is a bunch of trash on them including a stripped mobile home on one. Those ones are more concerning. I’m planning on using my hand brush cutter to do the first walkthrough and cut with those lots so I can remove or mark out objects that would be hazardous to the tractor.

I didn’t have seat envy for my L3301 until I watched this video and saw the LX seat. Dang! Now my rear is going to hurt every time I use it! Thanks, Neil!

I have the L3902 and treat it as the tool it is. This tractor can do some work! Yea I wish it had a better seat and tilt wheel but other than that it has performed every task I've asked from it.

Just set a customer up with an LX3520 and is the perfect match for what they are looking to do. That machine is so smooth. With rear ballast the 3520 and 4020 are beasts on that chassis. I still really like the 3902 but again it just depends exactly what the customer is looking for. 3902 is a great tractor

Nice comparison Neil. If a person is unsure about what to get for the tasks they need to do get with the salesperson that is well versed in the different tractor models to explain the differences between each model and how it compares with the tasks that you need it to do. Thanks Neil

Is the displacement of the engines the same? Do they have the same torque? Have the same ability to drive the hydraulic pumps?

Buy at least one size up from what you think you need. You're going to want it.

I think all the tractor are price way to high now days unreal there is no reason for that. They are just a peace of equipment that is in the dirt. But they are nice to have. Just to high. I guess I’m just pissed off that the government got into it. Where they had no business.

Not sure it would be a big seller but an MX4000 would also be an interesting option for the agricultural type user.

It’s annoying how relatively expensive the smaller compact tractors are. A 3560 is the same price (essentially) as a 4020. Ouch, if you’re like me and need a small tractor for small spaces. I love my cab B2650 (other than the hydrostatic whine, which is untenable), and I understand your have to pay for features, but i sure wish I could get away with a grand L size.
@MessicksEquip18 сағат бұрын
I do agree. Size is not always a indicator of cost.
@andrewgee24123 сағат бұрын
Since the standard L models do not have a mid PTO, how do you power a snow blower on the front of the tractor? Do you need a shaft going all the way to the rear PTO?
@MessicksEquip18 сағат бұрын
You don't 😄. You buy an LX or Grand L that have Mid PTO.
@pc5569Күн бұрын
Way to many compact tractors in the Kubota lineup and many overlapping. You need a semester course just to understand it. Just my opinion.

I need to know the torque difference. HP is relevant vs. torque and a high % torque rise.
@MessicksEquip18 сағат бұрын
You can get the blocked numbers off the spec sheet, and look up the torque curve on the Kubota engine USA website.

@@MessicksEquip Would be pretty useless I think, all you'd do is be spinning tires all the time and never accomplish anything I would think. I have the BX2680, it breaks traction a lot it seems like.
