Out here in the midwest something in the 50 - 70 HP range costs more than older 150 - 200 HP field tractors by a factor of 3 or more. All of our tractors were 3x the size we needed but the prices made using them super cheap to own and run.

I have a low hour John Deere 4200 front end loader, runs great all I do is change oil every spring. Would like to buy a "orange" tractor with a backhoe but they are out of their mind with the prices. Plus my 2003 compact don't use DEF. I'll go back to using my Farmall "A" before paying 40 thousand for a new tractor. They have priced their selves out the market.
