i think this type of stuff draws some attention to the sport itself why a lot of people like hockey they aren’t at all the same sport but banter has to be a part of the sport because where it’s not allowed people get bored as long as they don’t hit each other on the head with their sticks when helmets are off there has to be a different between scrapping and people just assaulting each other

I don’t mind the fights, I like the intensity, but in order for the sport to really grow, we have to win over the average suburban family. If a suburban Mom sees this kind of stuff happening at the professional level, she won’t want to get her kids involved with the sport. She doesn’t want to raise her kid to become a “punk” or a “bro” and if that continues to be the perception of the sport, she won’t sign her kids up to play. The best angle lacrosse can take from a growth perspective right now is that it’s a physical and fast-paced alternative to football without the same risk of brain injury. Keep the sport agressive but encourage clean play and punish poor behavior. That’s a huge reason so many families are able to get behind football - it represents more than just the sport, it’s the culture too.

"Fights"? Field guys have a weird way of thinking this is a fight
@lax_nuggets_.4 ай бұрын
Nah some are real fights others not so much but just fun beef to watch
@callumleslie13364 ай бұрын
@lax_nuggets_. None of those were fights and the title and commentary kept saying "fight".

Guess the PLL has their own definition of what a fight is.

PLL is encouraging this behavior for some reason.

I wouldn't classify these as fights. At best, they're tussles. If you want to see a "fight", check out a few box games.

Why was the Cohen hit illegal? It looked like he hit him in the chest, not the head.
@tommykern23364 ай бұрын
1. The running start from 20 yards away. 2. It clearly hits him directly in the helmet. 3. I'd argue Cohen should have been ejected for the hit.

@@tommykern2336 Getting a running start is illegal? I went and I paused the video and zoomed in when we made contact during the hit, it’s not directly to his head. The majority of the hit is to his torso, although it does look like there may be some contact to the head. He clearly was not going after his head.
@tommykern23364 ай бұрын
@@JGreez You get five yards. You can’t get a running start from 15 yards away. And the hit is clearly shoulder to helmet. There may be some contact elsewhere, but it’s still a clear headshot.

@@tommykern2336 Oh, I didn’t realize that there was a five yard limit on running up to someone for a bit. What part of the defender’s body makes contact with his helmet during the hit?

This is not good for lacrosse. Cut it out and grow up. Passion is one thing. Looking like bullies just reinforces the negative rap lacrosse has from the past.

Let them throw down their gloves and have a brawl like they do in box and hockey
