My background & work history is very much a carbon copy of yours. But, most of all I TOTALLY admire someone like yourself that has the mind and capability to do component level repairs and not just a board swapper. Good job, Sir! 👍🏼

you are so right about Ohms law. Long time ago I did a whole semester on next level math in electronics. When get your head around most of these complex formula you figure out that everything relates back to ohms law. When you figure that out you can sit aside most of that complexity because everything kinda just fits together.

I'm starting to do phone repairing as a hobby, mostly digging phone from the trash pile to fix them. Really love your work and how you keep the best in what you do. I hope I can get better in term of repairing skills and somehow make a living out of it someday.

Jason, you can test both camera's without the passcode. Just drag up on the lock screen, pick the camera and you're there. Don't feel bad about keeping your parts in a basket. I keep them in a cardboard box. Separated by device type but otherwise, just tossed in the boxes Mouser or DigiKey shipped them in. For future: When the magnetic field INCREASES voltage goes positive (increases) when the field breaks down or DECREASES voltage goes negative.

Funny coincidence, when I was in college a good friend of mine asked me to switch out of electronics and take the computer track. Back when I went to college computer guys had to take a couple of semesters of electronics. Needless to say, I switched to computers and now it’s been 23 years in the field. It has treated me very well over the years.

Good evening! I remembered watching this video and how you were having issues with the focusing of your camera on your Amscope kit and thought of you when Louis Rossmann was having the same issues in his latest. It seems you are absolutely correct with your theory about the long pipe used in your model as opposed to the shorter stub used in other content creators like Paul Daniels, Louis Rossmann, Art of Repair etc. The maker of the scope has changed the mount to be more “universal” so other cameras can be mounted. This results in a very unstable mount with the issues that I’m afraid will plague what is a great scope for the money. Just thought I share that info with you. BTW : you have a great channel thank you for your effort! Welcome to Florida!

For "local" sourced components, both Digikey and Mouser are excellent. What one does not have in stock, the other usually does. Both are friendly to small no minimum orders (like Ham Radio folks that like to build and fix things - new and old)

1:39:42 Regardless of price, I have not experienced one manufacturer with every single design aspect to be completely optimal. This has resulted in purchasing "single-channel" and/or "compact" versions for each tool from different manufacturers. The lack of space saving and power cable management has only been a slight drawback, but it's worked well for me so far. Some manufacturers have certain hand-pieces are only compatible to certain control units, so that's another challenge I've encountered as well.

I have a question are all smd standard and operate the same way in every motherboard? For that filter you ordered through aliexpress, couldn't you just take the same size off from another motherboard and put it there? Or is that filter specific and is different even if it's the same size? Thank you

You could never damage anything without electricity??? 1. Metallic tools always develop low level magnetism which can cause multiple issues. (OK not aluminum) 2. Pcb"s are full of electrons!!! Capacitors as well as Solid state Hard drives, Ram, chipsets, etc I've spent way too much time attempting to completely discharge devices and could always measure stray current afterwards.
