Zhuge Liang travels to East Wu in order to build an alliance against Cao Cao. Before he meets Sun Quan, Lu Su introduced him to a group of East Wu scholars who have advised Sun Quan to surrender to Cao Cao.

I do understand the scholars, but in a way, if they didnt defend valiantly against cao cao, they would have been eliminated from their province, whilst they thought in these scenes that they would still hold position even if Cao Cao takes Wu, which I don't believe its true since Cao Cao would've wanted centralized government. But would it have been different? Since Sima Yi took over the Cao family, I dont think there was a centralized government also. So I dont think either if them zhuge or the scholars were right. Both of them were wrong 😅.

i visited chengdu last year on christmas eve...it was weird the way they celebrated christmas even though...i really enjoyed visiting the temple of Zhuge Liang and the tomb of Liu Bei...heard Liu Shan monument was torn down early before the song dynasty at the temple

I think that's because Guo Jia died too early (38). Given the chance I think that he could have been on even terms with Zhuge Liang. And in the ROTK games, I think that the only reason Zhuge Liang has 100 int is how he was magnified in the novel. Guo Jia could have also gotten 100 int if given the chance but as I said before he died way too young.

Zhuge Liang of course.... he much smartter than Guo jia, but just a bit in Romance of The Three Kindoms X (game) Zhuge Liang has 100 INT, and Guo jia has 98 INT.. Guo Jia is smartter Than Sima Yi

haha they all got pawned. Yeah shu would have gone better if Zhuge Liang didn't die earlier. But the start of shu's downfall was certainly when Guan Yu died. Because he died Zhang Fei and Liu Bei died.

Yes i agree. Luck plays a big part here. If Liu Bei has the force like Liu Yan in the first place and have Zhuge Liang and other generals at starts, he will definately able to unite China and prolong the Han Danasty.

There would be no doubt if Liu Bei had accepted Jing province that Cai Mao would've raised a rebellion against him and Liu Bei would've certainly lost on two fronts especially since the warriors of Jing were loyal to Cai Mao rather than Liu Biao, Liu Cong, and Liu Qi. Far less Liu Bei wouldn't have had enough time to cultivate proper loyalty.

Pang Tong is smart, but stubborn and not as easy to communicate with... I don't know, it's because of his stubborness that he was shot to death at the Valley of the Fallen Phoenix. Liu Bei wanted him to take the bigger road, but he insisted on taking the smaller road.

I think Liu Bei should not even think to accept Jin province when Liu Biao died. Then there was no dispute with Wu on Jing province. And the death of Pang Tong was really bad luck for Liu Bei, if not, he will have Pang Tong as advice with Liu Bei's side and Zhuge Liang at Guan Yu's side, who can beat them.

What Zhuge's saying is that it's unfit for a nobody like Lu Ji, who was merely noted as an orange thief, to judge the merits of Cao Cao and Liu Bei.

Basically Zhuge Liang said that all that Lu ji was known for is stealing the orange. It was filial to give it to his mother, but ultimately trivial on his political career.

As much as zhuge liang has admirable and noble aspirations he must hv realised the han was alr fading into obscurity fast and tht virtue doesnt win an empire....only shrewdness, efficiency and ruthlessness can rule..hell i bet even Liu Bang used those same tactics to form the han dynasty lmao. wu scholars potrayed only brought crap arguments. cao cao was an astute poet and able administrator as well as general. He was worthy of mandate of heaven, so wu scholars have a point. Also cao cao showed his talent by defeating Yuan Shao and controlling half of China. ROTK portrays Confucian ideals because it was main philosophy at the time, so filial piety etc were important. Thats why it givese legitmacy to Liu Bei/Shu Han and continuance of Confucian principles.

Came here after watching Three kingdoms 2010. This version of a debate is greatly directed and has better dialogues, but I don't like this Zhuge Liang... too aggressive.
