In this class video, I'll show you the last and what most people consider, the most difficult exercise in the Ride Like a Pro course. It's called the Snowman. It is three circles which decrease in size as you go through it. To master this exercise, you need the most important techniques for low speed riding. Head and eyes, friction zone and a little pressure on the rear brake. Without these techniques, you are a motorcycle drop looking for a place to happen.
For more information on our dvds, downloads, thumb-drive, book, rider classes and locations, www.ridelikeap...

Don't forget to check out our son Tony's new KZbin Channel called, Leo Rides. Tony is stationed in Northern Italy and will be riding through all the great roads over there while filming with his new GoPro. He's just starting out, so we'd love for you to give him a thumbs up and subscribe to his channel. • Video

Jerry Im a seasoned rider, riding now for about 15 yrs. I started through schooling and watching 1000’s of your videos (as well as others) so this is a salute to you sir. I now ride a 1000 lb yamaha venture that you once test drove. I love it but she’s a beast. I would say though that everyone is different and everyone isn’t going to be as good as you, you’ve been doing this for years. I dont care how I look to other riders, I could care less. I do want to learn as much as possible to stay alive and live to see tomorrow thats all I care about. I never will care what others think and neither should you. TY

Just picked up my first cruiser ever and first bike in about a decade!! VTX 1300 and your videos on slow riding techniques has helped me tremendously. After 2 training sessions I'm able to do the slow cone weave at 12' and I can do u turns in 18' in both directions. I already had a good handle on the friction zone. Bought your DVD and watch it once a week. Every time I ride I take my backpack with measuring wheel and msf cones.

I was pretty much doing this as practice before I took my endorsement test(which was figure 8 & brake test). Found an empty road and practice circles and closed the circumference as I got more comfortable. Did it the same amount for each left & right turns. I still do it as a warm up before I go for a little ride.

Jerry, I have a 2018 Harley Heritage with an engine guard. I looked at the Motorcycle drop guards as added insurance for my bike. I would order the heavy duty since I don't have any fairings. When I saw the price of $300, I was a little taken back. My engine guard is a steel tube able to withstand the force of 700 pounds if I were to lay the bike down. $300 for brackets is extremely steep. Therefore, I will pass and if I have to lay the bike down, so be it. I'll go ahead and replace the engine guard for the same price. Not a bad idea, but price is steep.

Joe. I don't know if you have already, but maybe you should do a video about the Freewheelers and Trikes. I'm 69 years old and sold my Street Glide a while back, basically because I didn't know how to safely ride it. So I watched and watched your great videos and went to test drove a Softail, but still I was still taking the turns to sharp and felt out of control. Maybe because I am over 300lbs. So I finally swallowed my pride and bought a Tri Glide Ultra. Best thing I ever did. Found a great end of season deal. My girlfriend, who I didn't have back then, loves it also.

Yes I've seen that technique. The problem is there's a good chance of bending the bars or causing them to slip in their mount. When that happens, you've stripped the bars and they will never tighten properly again.

If you really want a challenge, try doing this on an FJR1300 with the YCCS (clutchless). You have to keep the revs up to 1100rpm so the gearbox stays engaged and ride the rear brake to control the speed. No clutch = no friction zone makes low-speed manoeuvring extremely hard.
@motorman857
@motorman857 3 жыл бұрын
Actually Bill, I have done it on an FJR1300 YCCS. I quickly found that starting in 3rd gear was the charm. In fact it was so easy, it was like cheating. A Wing DCT can't start off in anything but 1st gear and that 1st gear is very low and the throttle is very sensitive. The Wing is difficult at low speeds, That Yamaha is a no brainer.
