It's going to be cost to purchase/ lease and how the batteries perform by the end of the lease/contract with TFL. What the green lobby don't publish is that the laws of physics take place. A heavier vehicle will produce more particulates of rubber from the tyre and tarmac/ashfelt from the road surface. Not exactly 100% green is it .😬🤣🤣
@MostlyBuses12 ай бұрын
Yeah true but I'm pretty sure that even if you factor in the emissions caused by production of the battery and the bus, an electric will be better for the environment than a diesel or hybrid (and they also don't produce co2 at the tailpipe so I guess there are health benefits). But TfL shouldn't be doing this zero emission by 2030 thing, they're going to withdraw buses with plenty of years left in them which will be incredibly wasteful.

@tkkbxf2 ай бұрын
@@LuanUjupi As someone coming from Hong Kong I agree, Chinese buses won't last long, we had Yutong coaches in HK back in the early 2010s but most of them were withdrawn after 7-9 years because they have a lot of problems and the drivers also didn't like them that much compared to European brands, that's also one reason why buses in HK are mostly based from UK stuff (ADL and Volvo double deckers) until recently with the new BYD electrics, as Chinese products simply can't cope with the demanding operating conditions
