The real issue is the fact absolutely no real regulations exist for owning a dog like this. You don’t have to prove your ability to train or care for your dog. So absolute chavs, mongs and sadists get their hands on them and they become a victim of their own circumstance. Seen as a weapon instead of a friend.

Very true, these breeds of dogs are the prime choice of those who want them for all of the wrong reasons. No reasonable person would want to own a dog that could be capable of doing great harm to anyone it attacks.

The real issue is that the dog is like owning a tiger and if the little f*ckers have a temperament spike they’ll rip you to shreds no matter if you’re a man, woman or child. Like the presenter says it’s not a guns fault why they are banned just like it’s not the dogs fault that they’re gonna be banned and maybe put to sleep but they’re dangerous that’s the top and bottom of it. Pitbulls were bred with the purpose of being a vicious fighting dog. American bulldogs were bred to kill feral cattle and pigs they’re not exactly your average sheep dogs and when you combine these traits you end up with a seriously dangerous hound regardless of the owner the dogs a monster. My uncle kelvin had an American bulldog named Gnarler it was well looked after well trained but the only person who could go near it was my uncle and it was so protective over him it used to shit scare me as a kid and it weighed about 80kg if that thing got hold of you, you’d be lucky if you didn’t get killed.

caviat, my fav dog is the cane corso - that said - NOBODY can handle these dogs. This new incarnation of the molosser breeds never had a purpose, not hunting, herding or even as guardians like the dobie for example. They are only bred for ego and most people cant hadle them. I do wish that shows like this would get people on their show who ACTUALLY know what they are talking about such as Will Atherton [UK] or Robert Cabral & K|yle Swab [US]. There is only one solution imo and that is to RE-introduce dog licences for specific breeds. That way, anyone who looks like the dog on their arm is beyond them can be sussed out by the rspca or someone like the police canine unit specialists, hopefully before the dog murders someone.

The problem is, if these dogs decide to attack - even just once, in all their lives - their bite strength is so incredibly strong that they will easily cause immense damage to the human body, if not death. You can say, "It's the owner, not the dog" as much as you want, but it only requires for the dog to have one bad day in all of its life, it gets triggered to attack, and people are immediately gravely injured or killed. When there are so many friendly mongrels down at your local dogs' home, it is selfish and immoral to deliberately breed these dogs rather than giving a good home to a rescue dog. In my family, we either had friendly mongrel dogs from the dogs' home or retired greyhounds and either of those make excellent family pets.

And so can a Lab, German shepherd, Rottweiler, golden retriever . All dogs can be aggressive and wild and inflict injury to someone depending on how they are treated/raised by the the wrong people. My 5yr old American bully is way calmer than a lot of dogs. He has never been wild or aggressive, he's so funny, lovable, happy go lucky, big baby that wants love from everyone he meets. He has never displayed any aggression or violent behavior towards another animal or human being. You couldn't ask for a better companion than him. Since you and others wanna ban them what do you think should happen to the thousands and thousands of bullys just as good as mine? Euthanize them, is that what someone like you would do? Sorry you had a bad experience but coming from someone who's American bully is nothing what so ever like what youve described and speaking from experience it's not the breed it's how it's brought up and treated that makes a dog the way it is.

Dog licenses are what’s needed. Fines if you’re found to not have one. You must train the dog in an appropriate way in order to have a license. Get the council involved - tenants who have dogs without license will have some kind of forfeit. If you’re dog attacks people/other dogs on the estate the council should fine them then evict them, not the first time but subsequent time. 75 per cent of the deaths are from these dogs, and somehow she still has the gall to claim that there's nothing to it. The suggestion that they're calm is ridiculous. My sisters, have these dogs, and they all half different personalities, and two of them are anything but calm dogs that just want to lay around. They were bred to be vicious, and they live up to it. It shouldn't take dead kids for common sense to start kicking in.

I saw a video of an apparently well know very young dog trainer in USA whose father said his daughter about 10yrs old and 90lb could control this 130lbs Bully. She had the dog on a lead, and someone was trying to get the dog to come to him. He was shouting to her ‘control him, show them you can control him’ The inevitable happened .The dog pulled on the lead, she fell, and she was dragged along until she had to let go of the lead. Some control!

@@jonathanstone..Hi, I was just pointing out the difficulty in controlling one of these very large dog. All I saw was a bomb waiting to go off. The trouble is play sometimes becomes fighting. The one thing I have noticed is the dogs eyes, they have a sad, almost dead look. Most dogs when they interact with humans have bright intelligent eyes. They may well be deciding whether to bite or not, but most dogs won’t. I love dogs, but I am a realist. I think the worrying part is that so many bully owners won’t accept that there could be a problem. My dog wouldn’t do that, I know my dog! A friends Heinz 57 dog was absolutely wonderful with their small boy. But one day he nipped the boy but when the vet examined the dog he found he had an extremely painful ear infection and that had caused the reaction. The dog couldn’t make enough fuss of the boy when he realised what he had done. The vet said don’t let the child pull at him again, it’s not safe with any dog! The dog lived for another 12 happy, friendly, years as that boys best friend, but you never know. With regards to the Bully dog and the very young girl, her Father was actually say ‘show them you can control him’ she couldn’t,I rest my case.

The same dogs then go home and sit all over the floor and sofas. Disgusting after not being cleansed. So many dogs on the loose. I want to walk places in peace. I don't want dogs jumping at me. Owners get annoyed if I walk the other side or turn away. Even when I do deliveries and I hear dogs bark, I have to either leave the food on the floor or stand near my car and tell the owners to keep their dogs in. @@pillarsofdoom4891 - It's not just the natural temperment, but also the physiology of the breed as well. The jaw lock on the bull breeds are insanely strong, and once they latch onto something and lock their jaw, it's unlikely you'll be able to get them to release it unless the dog chooses to itself. Whereas with other breeds (who don't have as strong a jaw) theirs can be forced open with a lot more ease. That's why that particular breed is used by a lot of gangs.

There is no doubt in my mind that German Shepherds bite more than Pit Bulls do by far, but my point in pit bulls dont just bite they try and kill!! Another main point is that its NOT how the owner raises them it is in the breed itself. Of course any owner can train a dog to be mean, but you hear owner's always saying well if there pit bull attack's its because they wasn't raised right. This is not true, you can raise a pit bull to be nice to everyone and they can snap just like a German Shepherd or any dog as far as that goes, its just they kill instead of just biting and walking away! Pit bulls do not want to bite and walk away, they want to kill (if they snap) and it has nothing to do with how it is raised but its the breed ! All pit bulls and any variation of the breed should be banned in the United States forever. BAN ALL PIT BULLS AND ANY VARIATION OF THE BREED!👀👀👎👎

To be honest, I would feel safer if there were no American bullies. I am disabled and I know I can not stop one. I have only once in my life believed a dog would kill me and it was an XL Bully. We have had a few come at using aggressive manner and I am terrified. There is no way I could save myself or my assistance dog. It's gotten to The point that I don't enjoy our walks anymore . The only time I ever leave the house is with my mobility scooter and my dogs. It was the best time of the day for me and brought so much joy to my life. But despite the fact that I could once again enjoy a quiet walk..or ride as I can't walk, I don't want them.banned. Yes It would make it safe to go out again, but only for a few years. Then they would just have another large dangerous dog. Cane corso, Cauacasian shepherd, or some new breed. Instead I want a law that requires temperament a nd training to be tested before a dog can go off lead, like Germany's green tag system. I want all dogs to have to pass a temperament test to be bred. I want breeders and protection dog trainers to face some consequences of the dogs they breed or train kill. And I want records kept by microchip number for every dog., Including breeder details, training, all owners and so on. Also instead of identifying breeds by guesswork in attacks, use dna. Also use dna to find the faulty sequence which does cause some of these dogs to kill, like the attacks by pups from the heavily inbred Kimbo. It is worth noting that it took 12 rounds for police to stop one of Kimbos sons after he killed a child. One key aspect of fatal dog attacks is no one capable of intervening. This does need to weigh into authorities to reduce these attacks. Finally we need data on how these dogs are kept. We have known for decades that chained dogs became more aggressive.I A chained dog has far more freedom than a created one. How much frustration is built up in large powerful dogs kept caged most of their lives? There needs to a full database of all attacks, and the dog owner should pay for DNA sampling , profiling and storage after an attack. We would very quickly begin to see certain bloodlines becomes prominent in attack figures.

There's no question it is always the owners fault. The problem is that they are very strong dogs and some owners have acquired them for that purpose and have trained them to be aggressive. So the statistics are a bit distorted by these human sociological issues, however they remain the statistics at hand nonetheless. If you own such a dog, you have to be even more vigilant to guard against such risks. However the problem is that such dogs are being used as status symbols to portray strength by the owners and likely also as owner protection. Same deal with guns and other "dangerous" dogs. Strong dogs if raised improperly, seem more likely to become dominant and aggressive dogs. Weaker dogs and more submissive dogs can also be improperly raised, however the risk is lower. It comes down to the risk. There in lies the problem, however we can only generalise about this, despite the fact being statistically represented.

"Dangerous" dogs? How about dangerous people. It is not the dog it is the owner who should be sentenced. These situations arise because of irresponsible "owners" who have zero knowledge of how to train and take care of such an incredible animal. I see kids in London half the size of these dogs and barely in charge of them. Some of these dogs could be frustrated, lack training or are purely thought this way simply by dangerous people who unfortunately are in their possession. And let's not forget the "backyard" breeding which is also a huge cause in a dogs behaviour. Start educating yourselves about these dogs, start investigating these people and start prosecuting them. Stop banning these criminals and not the dogs. It's not their fault for ending up in the hands of these abusers.

I'm a dog lover, had dogs my whole life. Staffordshire bull terriers, mixed breeds, Bullmastiffs. This is very simple. These breeds need tighter regulations. Special license, temperament testing of the dog and suitability of the individual. If the people who want these dogs are happy to pay thousands, I'm sure they wouldn't mind paying an extra thousand or 2 to go through a vetting process. Plus any dogs sold need sterilised. The amount of poor breeding practices has fundamentally changed the behaviour of these dogs. They were historically not at all exhibiting these traits until drug dealers and criminal entities started to breed them in the UK. Tougher legislation required but not complete banning.

I'm assuming these are what we Americans call Pit Bulls.... the problem here is not the dog per se, its the owners typically raise these dogs to be a "tough" protective watchdog, viewing them almost like a weapon or security system. This will never work in the end. Dogs are for love not war. Its just a matter of time before said Bully Dog bites a mailman, neighbors kid, or someone you did not want them to..... they do not see the world the same way humans do. Even if they bite a burglar you can be sued. Its really sad in the U.S. with Pit Bulls. People get them, raise them as security dogs....they eventually bite the wrong person and get dumped in the dog pound. They are FULL of Pit Bulls. Sometimes as much as 90% of dog shelters are this breed. Nobody will adopt them, because they bark and growl at anyone who comes in to adopt..... and they die alone and confused. Very sad.

The way Ranvir reacted was so over dramatic. The dog was nowhere near her but she had to put on a show. It's people exactly like her who make our dogs look bad. Nobody nor a so-called 'dog behaviour specialist' can tell me that my bull dogs are an aggressive breed! My dogs wouldn't hurt a fly never mind murder a child!! They don't bark, unless I tell them to 'speak'. They play with my children and I wouldn't ever worry if they would hurt them. Then know the difference between play time and relax time. Any stranger can stroke them without hesitation. I am their owner and they know me and all humans are supierior! But as soon as I say 'GET IT' in a certain tone and point to who and what it is I want my dogs to bark or attack, that is when they will do so. Therefore, it is down to how the owner and not the dog! Any dog can be vicious without being trained or even loved. If you save a pet who's been neglected, they're vicious! If you don't know how to look after a dog and raise a well behaved dog you shouldnt have one. I can agree with there being a licence to own one, as they have became popular for the wrong reason and are being put into the hands of the wrong people. So yeah, make everyone take a series of classes on how to train an XL bully, but to ban the breed would be pathetic. If the ban does go to plan and the XL bully is banned, then trust me when I say I can name atleast 15 aggressive small breed dogs that I would happily petition to ban!!! Whats next, are we going to ban staffordshire terrier because that's what the "killer dog" is mixed with? All dogs can kill, so any dog can be a classed as a "killer dog". Then to use the twitter poll as your argument at the end definitely topped it off😂, as if anyone even uses twitter anymore.

Not sure about XL American bulldogs, BUT I have a pure white American Bulldog "Knarls Barkley" and he is the biggest lover and gentle with bunnies, babies, cats etc. And loves to sleep, snuggle and play all day it how the OWNER RAISES AND TREATS THE DOG that determines how it will act and interact with other people and pets he is the best house pet ever, I have a doggy door and no fenced yard so he can let himself outside unsupervised and I'm not worried about him running away or attacking anyone because I raised him with love and trained him to be a gentle giant that listens to my every command and is my best and only friend and I wouldnt get any other breed ever again other then American Bulldogs. I talk to him and treat him just like a human so he likes sleep and snuggle next to me in bed and I allow him to roam around freely on potty breaks then he sun bathes for 30min and let's himself back inside. So if you take the time and attention to train them correctly they will become your shadow that listens and follows u to the end of the world and back just to be with you if you love them so they love u back otherwise they get bored or regress to a more wild or disobedient pet that wants to lash out to get attention and love they require daily that's why they call them FUR BABIES because they require as much attention and love as new borns do every couple hours every day and if u don't have the time to give them the love and attention to keep them from regressing into their wild instincts then after the puppy years around 2yrs. Old they will eventually start to grow into a more human personality that will communicate in a way u learn to understand as they watched and learned it from u. Its all in how they are raised so if it's a bad dog that means they have a bad owner that doesn't give their pet the daily attention and training they need then u don't need any pets because u r too busy with your own life and daily needs to neglect your pets needs. THERE ARE NO BAD PETS JUST BAD OWNERS, NO CAP ALL FACT! ❤ ❤

If anything, have people confirm you're a good dog owner and be required to have mental health checks to ensure you wont use the dog for crimes and that the dog's wellbeing is among your top priorities! Have someone from a dog charity visit your home to confirm you have ideal living conditions for yourself and the dog! Dogs shouldn't be killed for their shitty training from their owners - my hound is huge (in both height and weight - healthy weight for the breed) but she's a gentle giant which has totally given me a new perspective on dog ownership. I take her to pubs and just have a nice time with her but don't let people pet her, if they insist then I will ask if they have had alcohol and that is my red or green light for them to pet her (if they've had a drink, it's a "hell no, you're not petting her" because a drunk guy once got in both of our faces when she was a puppy and she wants to protect me and I her). Point is, while XL American Bullies are huge and could be a threat - it isn't at all a guarantee that they are a danger to people, it's all a matter of training, ownership and living conditions!!!!!

I often see these dogs off lead with owners taking pleasure in ‘how well trained they are’. Regardless of how trained any dog is they are big powerful dogs they have the potential to kill people. Just crazy o take that risk in parks ETC.

No, do not blame the dog. Blame the owner for notmproperly training and controlling the animal.

BRING BACK Dog Licences & Muzzle ALL dogs in Public spaces, EXCEPT from Working Dogs. DOG Licences WERE The Same price as marriage licences. ALL dogs can attack, it’s NOT just one breed, it’s also the owners. A small terrier damaged my back in the owners home!

As a dog trainer I’d much rather have regulation and bring back an ownership license. I think the dog should be muzzle trained to be able to get the license, but I don’t believe they should all be muzzled when in public unless they are let off lead.
