Your lessons are just awesome, thank you so much! You've really made it so much easier to use this versatile organizer and meal planner. I also really appreciate your clear and calm delivery - so soothing in these troubled times. I agree with another commenter that the Paprika organization should pay you ;-) Liz

I've had Paprika for six months with such good intentions but felt a little overwhelmed when just jumping in. Thank you so much for your two Paprika videos, I feel they've given me a good kick to get started. I'm looking forward to some meal planning this weekend. Additionally, your videos are so comforting! I love to put Barefoot Contessa on in the background when doing chores or finishing work because there is something so soothing about listening to Ina Garten. The two of you will cheer me right up when I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thank you again!

I’m thinking of doing some more paprika videos so if you find that some bits of it are harder then others just let me know and I’ll try and cover in my next paprika video - that’s if I know the answer ;) Have a lovely weekend and thank you again for taking the time to come here and give such nice feedback

Subscribed! I just found you because I was looking to start using the Paprika app again after a few years of ignoring it. My children are now grown and I have acquired disabilities which both radically change how I prepare meals. I am looking to simplify it all, without giving up quality. I enjoyed your video. Thanks.

Hi there Faux and a warm welcome to you. Thank you so much for connecting and I hope you'll find my channel helpful to you on your journey. I resonate with your introduction very much. I got into healthier eating, and eventually growing food, after suffering a head injury in my late 30's. With more illness since and chronic pain to manage, I really do find that food makes a huge difference. I am not always well enough to do the prepping, chopping and cooking that healthy food needs, so you'll find plenty here on prepping food in advance, freezing and finding ways to keep it simple whilst also eating as well as I can and using fresh foods as much as possible. Paprika is amazing for this. If you have ideas for the channel, do get in touch anytime or there's a monthly newsletter which (I think) is linked in most description boxes. Happy Tuesday to you.

What an incredibly helpful video! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video. I have just started researching Paprika and its features. I was looking for an app that would make it easy to use meals I have already used for menu planning for the upcoming week. You made it very easy for me to see that Paprika will meet my needs. Loved the seagull and their sounds!!
@CookingandCalm5 жыл бұрын
Ah thank you Drew- that’s really kind of you and I’m so pleased it’s been helpful in your search. The seagull sounds always lifts my spirits. We’re so very lucky to live so close to the sea. I think the meal planning side of Paprika is not that well known about and its got so many clever bits hidden away that I’m a real fan! Good luck and I hope you find the menu function helpful - saves a lot of time for me and it’s brilliant seeing all those meals just populating in at the click of a button, er screen ;)

Whats a life changing. It will definitely make everything easier. Is it any option to import pictures or scan your own recipes from magazines / books into the app or it’s just web browsing recipes ???? Loving it so far. Thank you so much for all tips and sharing :)
@CookingandCalm3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's so brilliant. You can definitely import little pictures and then expand them (on iPad anyway). To see how to do that check out my video in the playlist called "Paprika App 3 Demo: Teach the Family to Cook with Personalised Recipe Cards" - once you've got one in- just tap it and it will expand. I also have a little hack for getting old recipes into my database where I have them on a typed dusty old scraps of paper, and also works on magazines if the text isn't too scrambled between adverts etc. I tell you what ....why don't I make a quick tip video to show how I do it and hopefully it might translate!

How do you account for not doubling up your groceries list if you add meal prep? Do I put my meal in as a note instead of recipe? I freeze pancakes so for groceries do I put recipe in under prep and make pancakes as note in the daily meal ?

Yes you’re right, I’d do one of those as a note . Either will work

I've been playing around while working on our USA Thanksgiving dinner and have some ideas. First off, it's just my husband and me and I prefer to toggle between windows and iPad. I prefer to do my meal planning, recipe downloading, and most of the time spent @ my computer which is windows based. In the kitchen, I work off of an iPad. Just discovered (which I think will work for me): create a Menu using cap letters, using NOTE, day of the week, general description eg. TACO TUESDAY, or FISH? for everyweek because I usually don't have more than two (if I'm lucky) weeks planned ahead. Hope this helps

FYI: Menu called Basic Weekly Schedule
@CookingandCalm3 жыл бұрын
That's brilliant Kari, I do something similar as my scatterbrain forgets some of our standard favourites and I can get lost for hours looking up new recipes to try. Sometimes we just need a tried and tested menu to kick in so this is fab. I'm working on some meal plans for different times in life eg. we're experiencing massive rise in food prices here in the UK so I'm working on a frugal menu plan for when I want to cut back a bit and other themes. There's not enough time in the day for me right now, but I promise I'm working on it :)

Re-watching this video, tons of great usability info here! Quick question... If you still use the app for your grocery list, how do you avoid messing up your groceries by adding items in to "meal prep" category? When you add items to the grocery list, anything that you listed as prep, would also be added... I was thinking of adding these items as meal prep on the day that I cook them, but have a category of leftovers for when I use up the second portions of a food that I cooked. Or is that what your "packed lunch" category is for? Thanks for all of these amazing tips, you are the only person on youtube doing in-depth videos for this wonderful app, they should pay you!
@CookingandCalm4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Matthew. Hopefully I'm understanding the question right, so here goes... what I do is when I'm in the Week View of the meal planning calendar, I then click 'edit' (bottom left on the iphone version) and then you can select *only the meals you want to export ingredients from* to the Shopping List by clicking the the radio buttons. My meal prep categories are often just a note to myself and don't list ingredients, so that's an option too. Thank you for your thank you- it means a lot. I just love this app! Good luck!

Yes, you can use the iPhone 's newer scan function and I'm sure there will be equivalent in android. Export can be in pdf and e-mailable etc if a non paprika person. Bit fiddly but works well. Have a look at this video and hopefully that will help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2LEm42ebLd6bsU

Hello, when using Paprika, can you assign a recipe to multiple folders? For example, can "Chicken Fajitas" be in a folder I created for "chicken" but also "Mexican food"? Or can the recipe only be in one folder. Thank you.

Hi there Carrie and thanks for watching my video - yes a recipe can be in both folders at once and I do this too. Just select ‘edit’ on the recipe you want to add to multiple categories, then select the radio button for each folder you’d like the recipe to be in. Hope that helps 👍
