Good on you guys for turning back from the initial objective! I think the true metric of success in the mountains should always be good decisions made and not peaks summited. Knowing when to step back is a true mark of a good mountaineer. We need more of these turn-backs captured on outdoor adventure content. For so long the skiing video scene was saturated with people sending the gnar, racing avalanches, and jumping off cliffs. While those are very fun to look at, it's refreshing to see the full spectrum of mountain adventures be shown like it is here. The good, the sketchy, and the awesome.

Love the channel and watching what you guys do! I honestly dont have much experience summer skiing, but am conservative so when I hear late start, south facing slope, boiling hot, and visible ice balling, I think of perfect potential wet avalanche conditions. Glad it worked out and you had an awesome day!
@pinetarsavage3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you're a Rocky Mountainer because I recently heard that's an issue out there, but summer skiing is pretty standard out in the West. (The West Coast I guess I should say). All about that corn snow. I'm guessing it's because our snowpack is just much more dense. Sierra Cement and Cascade Concrete pay off once late Spring and Summer roll around!

The volcanoes you can see to the north of the Sisters are Jefferson, Hood, and then Adams. St Helens and Rainier aren't far beyond that but they're obscured by some of the other hills. Lassen would be to the south, beyond McLoughlin and Shasta.
