Are you considering becoming a freelancer?

I've been freelancing as a designer since day one and am here to share my learnings. Time and Financial Freedom are very close - as terms - to freelancing. But they're not quite the same.
Every time I meet perm staff members who toy with the idea of swapping being an employee for a freelancer, I suggest they consider these three things: managing money, managing anxiety and managing expectations.

Marta, I’ve been following you for a while. I must say, you make excellent videos. As someone who is about to start posting videos myself, it’s concerning (and a shame), that you don’t get as many views as your videos deserve.

One of the aspects of Marta’s posts is that they are thoughtful, considered and delivered in a meaningful, unsensational way. I’m afraid that some KZbin ‘hits’ are created by sensationalism and ‘jolt a minute’ content. Marta’s content, like Damon’s and Ramin’s is more valuable and relevant than all the ‘Wow’ stuff out there.

100% with all the points. Been freelancing for three years; has all its ups and downs. However over time I increased my buffer from 3 to 12 months as it helped me manage my anxieties and allowed me be brave enough to reject work and risk nothing coming up imminently.
