Dang, I just love that y'all are willing to give this kind of focus to sticky rice. It should be celebrated more in the foodie sphere! Props for always being passionate about the unique ingredients, the techniques, and the chefs that push things forward. 🙏

I love how A.T.E. team would like chefs to speak the food name (also some other things) in the original native name. It really helps viewer understand that there's more of the story before any dishes being serve.

I order it in Thailand when I go, but whenever I see it at an American restaurant, it's almost always terrible. Occasionally getting it at a wat can be good or some Thai grocery stores that have fresh food. Maybe just because rak pak chi is hard to get here.

Sticky rice is a super versatile. The different way that they cook it in this video is eye-opening. We have "lo mi", or "lou mai" in Cantonese, and I always thought that was sticky rice. Then I had Thai sticky rice and got my mind blown.

Sticky rice to Lao Cuisine is what the baguette is to French cuisine. Both these cuisines can be seen across multiple countries where they have left or brought their influence. Sticky rice is synonymous with Lao cuisine.
