That is a lot of $ for a 10 inch pan, but the smooth surface is worth a little more than a standard cast iron if you are doing for eggs and such. But that is a minimal thing for someone with some experience. I would have a hard time pushing my Lodge cast iron to the side for $160.

I come back to this every so often because for some reason the Japan episodes hold a very specific place in my memory for no reason other than when I use the phrase Worth it, I immediately think of these episodes, and I guess as the best episodes of this series. Also, I'm finally going to Japan in April for my first time and thought of this marathon

Hah, my journey was similar. I bought a petty Victorinox for myself, which I still love, then a Mac chef’s knife, which I also love. But even the nice Mac knife was too fancy for me though, I wanted to marvel at it rather than use it and risk harming it. So then I moved onto inexpensive Chinese chef’s knives, and they’re awesome! Perfect for push cuts, and meant to be abused.

This is how this series should've continued post covid, a travel show. Though no one can replace the legend that it Anthony Bourdain, they could've out their own worth it twist to the concept like a fusion dish. We miss you Tony, same way we miss the old Worth It crew. RIP.

12 inch stainless steel frying pan, a 6.5 qt enameled Dutch oven, a 12 inch cast iron, a 10 inch nonstick and a 3 quart sauce pan/saucier are essentially all the cooking pans you’ll ever realistically need. Even getting a 12 inch stainless steel pan and an enameled Dutch oven will cover like 95% of cooking needs in a pinch

Animal agriculture is fueling the flames of climate change just as much as fossil fuels. It uses most of the agricultural land while providing the least calories globally. Its the leading cause of deforestation. And its spreading disease-communicable and non communicable. Just take a look at the h5n1 spreading through bird flocks, dairy herds right now. It also is causing antibiotic resistance, since it uses most of the antibiotics in factory farms.
