I'd definitely love to see a Cherry Phosphate and a 'Red Hot' my Granny used to take us to a local pharmacy and they had a soda jerk in the front parlor. They're long gone and I'm not sure if anyone is left who would know the recipes, but you've inspired me to reach out.

So it turns out you can still get acid phosphate online to make phosphates. The recipe is as simple as soda water, flavored simple syrup, and a couple dashes of acid phosphate. You could probably even use snow cone syrup if you don't want to whip up simple syrups at home. Other Greg, who did the documentary on egg creams, he runs a soda fountain and candy store down in Florida, and he has LOTS of KZbin videos, some of them about old-time sodas. His channel is for sure worth checking out. I would love to bring back this tradition of making sodas and other treats on-demand.

This was an awesome episode to watch. Me and my son spend a lot of time cooking together with recipes we get from KZbin, so definitely adding these to the list! Was just nice to see another dad doing this kind of stuff with their kid.
