Don’t reinvent the wheel. Use galvanized metal flashing.

Obviously, the lack of proper venting and insulation caused the ice daming effect that initiated the problem. You just covered up the same problem without repairing the insulation and venting.

@@Rochesterhome base of our experience, the main problem was on the valley nailed too close, That was reason of the leaking. And we are a specialize on commercial end, Residential Roofing. we don’t do any insulation or drywall as usual we do mention to homeowners they will have to hire a drywall company to make all repairs needed on drywall ceiling.

Why not use metal on the valley ? Also did you use Henry’s on the step flashing? I was told only use roofing cement which is a non asphalt petroleum product. Nice job anyway as there are plenty of roofers who would not like to see their work going on KZbin.
