OP IN ONE HOUR - Confessor Elden Ring Beginner's Guide - Sword of Night and Flame +5 is NUTS

A follow up! After playing this a bit more after the video, I think going Sword and Board is actually a great strat for this character. Building into a holy shield paladin is really fun, as shields are already very strong, and you can then augment it with a lot of faith should you wish. Additionally you can go super mage with a scepter and incantations in the left hand for both buffs and range should you want that instead, but either way I do suggest getting some endurance so you can wear some chunky armor. I'd highly suggest after this guide ends getting 20 to vit and 20 to end, as that will last you a very long while, then just farm some great armor and decide if you want to be more of a holy spell knight or a holy shield knight. Mannnn I'm 39 now and have my points spread everywhere because I'm using a strength faith scythe scenario with a bit of dragon magic so def going to need to respec at some point. Definitely killy puff tomorrow morning to see how close to that 24 int stat I can get to.... As for sword and board, would throwing "No Skill" on the shield work to keep both sword and board out at the sane time?

@@KidDynamite22 I actually put Barricade Shield on my shield and only use the Uber Death Dingleberry Beam against bigger enemies and bosses. The sword already has wild, wild attack damage so it's still good onehanded without the art and just using block counters. When you need the beam or the fiery death tornado you can quickly two-hand it, pop off the move, then switch back to shield. This is doing absolute gangbusters for me so far, I cannot believe this is still in the game lol.

Great vid! Time saving tip, there is a gold pickled fowl foot on the way to pick up the morning star. Check a ridge overlooking the caravan by waypoint ruins, there should be some guards keeping watch over the road

For the knight, the poison trap does not work now. Few other guides showed setting time to night and then climbing up the tree. The knight either gets stuck under the tree and you can get some blows in or you just hope he falls off the ledge. Trying to replicate, I was just hopping around frantically with Torrent to climb up the tree, too afraid of getting killed getting killed. So i either fell off the ledge or got killed one shot by the knight. 😅 So this time, i just passed time at the grace to set it to noon and then climbed up the tree. I was hoping to just stay atop the tree till night and let the knight appear. But I had to go away for few minutes, so just left the game there. Came back after 10 min, the knight had fallen off the bridge and i had 42k runes and an Ash of War. 😂😂😂

I think the poison kill for the knights cavalry is glitched, he just teleports back to his bridge after a certain point even if he's in attack range of me.

Just did this today thanks a lot man this is a beast of a weapon. Unfortunately i'm pretty sure it got nerfed but it is still pretty badass i got the Tree Sentinel down in 5 shots. For the nazgul part, i encountered a shitty bug when killing him so i never got the runes. Fortunately, at this same site of grace just down the road under the bridge there is the ball farm glitch that is still working so i made 50k in like 15 minutes.

What I did to beat the night: ride your horse next to him and make him chase you to the front right ledge behind the bridge rail. Then dismount before he gets there and walk onto the ledge. There’s a big enough gap for you to walk on, he’ll chase you and fall off! Hope that helps!

Unfortunately I think so. Just did everything and that’s the only thing that won’t work for me on PS5. He just phases back to his spawn, still taking damage from the poison but he doesn’t did at the top of the hill.

Were those effects from ashes of war, or is it stock with the weapon when proficient( R1 and r2 special attacks)? I had already used my runes differently to level up Str and Dex in order to use the Troll Knight Sword , so I can't fully use this one yet. Thanks for the guide, though! It's the ash based on the weapon. The glitch seems to have been patched (or it just obscenely hard), however you can actually lure him off the side of the bridge....or just farm the runes elsewhere.

I was able to do it but it's obscenely hard now. It's actually a lot easier to bait him into falling off, or cheese him by jumping on the tree root that goes over the bridge and kill him at range/with status effects.

Not only was it hilarious but definitely one of the best guides for a quick start. I was a mage and re rolled into a crusader type thanks to your guide and it’s a blast.

I have a full blown mage build on a different character, but wanted to use faith, and am not a fan of the colossal weapons (they are apparently meta now after the latest patch). I’ve been using this sword pretty much after my fight with one of the main bosses that lets you respec your points. Number of bosses later I’m about to fight one of the hardest bosses in the game (General stars scream) far had no issues with any bosses, any enemies or locations & im now in Leyndell the capitol. Mine is only +4, (I need to get more somber smithing stones) I’m level 93 confessor with cipher pata as a backup RH, a whip for backup LH and a secondary 1H sword too, Vig 30 Mind 28 End 14 Strength 16 Dex 15 Int 24 Faith 50 Arc 12 And safe to say I only reaallllyyyyy use the weapon arts when I want to destroy something, half of my game time I spend just fooling around and having fun now because I’m not afraid to fight anything lol

Another helpful advice to add, if you along the way happened to stop at the Dragonbarrow Fork grace throughout all this you can then fast travel there and the dragon just up the hill you can cheese with the special attack over and over (close to 3500 runes) as he gets stuck on the tree/cliff and cant get to you.
