It is such a joy for me to watch you and your little ones! I'll be 79 next month and I live alone now. You sure are a hard working lady, but you have time, take time, for the "little things", the things that matter most. What you're putting by all look good and will definitely come in handy this winter. I wish you all the very best with your new "gift" and the joy a new baby will bring. You all stay safe and take care of each other❤

It is fun to watch, Herb. I'm 76, always cooked for a big family but now I live alone & it's sometimes hard to be motivated to cook for just me. I still can & some of the grown grandkids come "shop at Mimi Mart". They always bring me a bag of groceries even though I don't really need it. And they always return my jars!

Still watching but I have to stop & say - the toddler putting canning rings on his?her? arm (sorry, I’m a new viewer) reminds me of Blueberries for Sal! The front or back illustration, depending on the version of the book shows Sal in the kitchen with her Mom while her mom cans blueberries. I love the old fashioned stove & that picture is my favorite in the book! I love how your channel shows your kids! I realized any other KZbinr I watch for homemaking rarely shows kids helping or around which is completely unrealistic for my life. I love how you show your kids as a natural part of the life of the home. ❤️💕

I found your KZbin channel a while back and am so enjoying it. We home schooled our 5 children, with at times one or another going to school. You are encouraging me to get back to homesteading and preserving food like I used to. One of our sons became a quadriplegic almost 10 years ago and we needed to stop everything to care for him. Now we have caregivers to help. So I have time to get back to the things I love, gardening, preserving food, sewing more, etc. I love your gentle spirit and bright and knowledgeable mind. You are a lovely person. My husband and I just returned from a visit to Hawaii to visit our son and his family of 6. On our flight home, my husband said that he saw the woman in front of us was watching you on You Tube 😊 I thought you might get a kick out of hearing that. Blessings to you and your family ❤️

That is such a clever start to making chili. As you mentioned, it will be so easy for you or one of your helpful kiddos to simply add whatever extra ingredients sound good at the time. Corn, beans, spices…whatever sounds good. I do realize you want to make sure you have everything ready for your family, but even when it Is hard, always remember to put yourself and the baby first during this time. Your older kids are quite responsible and fully capable of caring for themselves and the little boys. The meals may not be what you envisioned, but it will only be for a short time, and your family will be fine.
