2004 warptour Darien Lake, ny. Thrice performed during a hurricane not even making it through their first song. The Artist in the Ambulance, while they raged, their entire set was coming apart... they hit that stage so hard . They didn't miss a beat. True Rockstar. They were forced off stage right before the whole stage was destroyed. I'm grateful they ignored the venue for along as they did. 2mins of absolute bliss. 💯

I would like to thank Thrice for writing this song just for me. In the video, the guy finally has to burn down his past in order to start anew. We see him running backward, which we all do as we're finding our way, and in the end, he burns it all down, much as Columbus did when he reached the new world so that there was no turning back. The girl is central to his healing. It fits me so perfectly that the first time I saw it I thought they wrote it for me. I've burned it all down, and my wife looked nervously at me and smiled, too. It paid off. Thanks guys. I can play it, but I can't get through it without crying when I try to sing it. Just beautiful.

In the early stages of addiction recovery, I realize that my addiction was destructive to the woman I loved. I loved her she truly loved me. But my self destructive behaviour drove her away. She stayed with me through the storms, sticking by my side thru the episodes of rage. I didnt deserve her or her love. But I'm glad to know she'll find someone who will love her right. Wish it was me but I figure a fresh new love with someone new is way better than being with me and the emotional scars I created

My thoughts exactly. Wish it wasn't so. But I was at my house when she was with someone new, I turned around and left because I didn't want to see her unhappy find me chasing someone away. Although I was so hurt that it was so fast. And I asked her if she like to dude three or four times a month prior to our break up. She denied denied. But a decade I was with her. I can just tell part of me blames myself. But she made that choice. And then he hit it and quit it. And now I just want to see him suffer, the way I did and the way he made her suffer. But I know it's better to just let it run its course.

People are probably not going to read this comment but I'm writing it anyway. This is one of the most beautiful songs in the world. You might not notice it at first but you will after reading this. When I first heard it, I thought it was an okay song since I did not recognize it's greatness. Then I got to really LISTEN to it. And by the end I felt so numb (in a good way). I couldn't even bare how good that was. Notice the first chord strums with the chorus guitar effect reminiscent of a rainy day. Notice that build up. Also that epic bridge and then the chord change in the final hook. I was sold. But THEN that dark progression in the outro was the cherry on the top. Go and truly listen to it, you will not regret it!

Artist In The Ambulance is still my favorite era for Thrice, but as I've gotten older the more contemporary hard rock feel is growing on me with all these old bands whose music is growing with them-- Good song.

Loved the AITA 'metal' phase (and still do) given I was in my angst-ridden early twenties, but the soundscape-y period between Vheissu and Alchemy ended up being the sweet spot for me. Their progression to straight up hard rock feels very natural and has some of the finest songwriting of their career to date, but the last two albums do seem to have a lot of unengaging filler. Either way, hard not to remain a fan when they keep pushing boundaries and evolving in the way only Thrice can! What an incredible discography.

Idk what this song is about, but to me: it's about a *true* love story, where they are going to have to "weather" the inevitable "storms" if they want the love to survive. How do we find Harbor, from the hurricane? We have to both want it to survive, no matter how much water our ship takes on, and work together to carry through the tidal waves of fear and pain.
