Neat transformation! I like to buy items and try to change them, but my sewing know-how is more limited in terms of pattern changes (unless it's really easy :) ) Question for a future video: for a dress with a back or side zipper that you want to remove the top portion and make into a skirt - how do you shorten/fix the zipper without having to remove the zipper? Can you just cut it and sew back & forth over both teeth so that it stops and the zipper pull doesn't fall off? Does that make sense? I would love a tutorial video on that.

Yes, you can make new stops for the zipper, either as you described or by sewing a waistband with a seam that crosses the zipper.
