In today's episode of ~thrift flippin~ *insert awkward hand motion here*, I transform a pair of low waisted jeans into high waisted culottes, alter a couple vintage dresses to fit better, and spice up a plain old t-shirt with some diy embroidery.

There are like, 10 million people in LA. It's just a lot of selection and they keep the good stuff. Celebrities don't donate their clothes like that bc creeps& paparazzi get it and can flip it so they usually sell it on ebay or to an auction house.....

pro tip: my mom has always been tailoring my jean shorts and pants for me for as long as I can remember because it is so hard to find affordable jeans that fit both my tiny waist and bigger hips and thighs, so what she does is by bringing in the fabric on the waist underneath where the belt loops are on both of the sides, so they are hidden, and there is no baggy area like at the butt lol

You could just wear tights... I think other countries call them yoga pants? Something like that. They're comfortable and look fine in black or white. The ones I'm talking about aren't actually the type of pants you'd wear for yoga, though- they're stretchy, yeah, but they're also really itchy when sweating from any kind of exercise.

Oh my gosh - this is going to sound so weird but I'm kind of glad to see someone else with gross thumbs! I have anxiety and I basically like pick and bite/gnaw at my fingers and thumbs (yeah it's disgusting but I can't help it - I do it subconsciously) and my hands always look so manky and I find it really embarrassing because I've never met anyone else who does it apart from my dad. I'm glad you showed your gross thumbs, thank you 👍

I pull the skin from my nails and lips. I found that having nice manicures helped but my lips are another story. I try to stop when I'm conscious of it but most of the times I'm not. Good luck everyone.

Those jeans are midrise, and just sat a little closer to low because they were too big. Low rise would not have had that much room in the crotch to pull them up that high.

Still a good idea though if we find some great jeans? When I bought a pair of too big but fabulous (only one available) silk/cotton trousers, I hitched them in/up by sewing the centre back seam. I wish I'd seen this video first, and put darts instead, will remember for next time as I think it works better this way.

With embroidering such a thin and stretchy fabric, a stabilizing fabric scrap is always a good idea to use. Interfacing is common or stiffer, pre-shrunk cotton is good too. That way the design won't compromise the fabric, since it creates new tension points. A sewing machine is the best gift I ever received! It has saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
