Come home decor and furniture thrift shopping with me at my local charity shops, antique shops and auction house! If you are looking for a budget friendly way to make your home look collected and curated, thrift shopping is the way to accomplish that!
I'll be revealing what I bought and then doing makeovers on all the items that need to be made over, showing you the techniques I use to create a high-end finish!
This is not just shopping and DIY, there's lots of home decorating too as those newly flipped pieces have to go somewhere so I'll show you how I style them in the guest cottage here at my home in Sussex England!

Oh, Tracy, how much fun to see in your charity shops and antique stores. I wish I could send you a picture of what is in our thrift stores! Junk, junk, plastic discards, broken pieces, etc.. If you are lucky, you might find one decent thing to make over by going to 3-4 stores. And, then, the prices! Plus, then to get to see you put your spin on each one! Going thrifting with you, my mouth stayed open in Aww at all the awesome things in your second hand stores. Here in the states (at least in my area) the things in the second hand stores are not worth buying. Sometimes I may find an okay piece but nothing as amazing as what you have at your shops. I think its because the best stuff is brought to auctions. I love your style. Thanks for posting you home decor videos. I love the neutral colors when it comes to design. One thing I love in charity shops is the sturdy mirrors with beveled edges. At some point they started making them all flat to the edge. Beveling gives such an impression of quality.

I love going on these journeys with you. I am from the United States. I have to say I’m very impressed with the bargains you are finding. Things here seem to be much more expensive. I lost my mother in July of last year and have missed out thrifting outings and estate tag sales in the area. Most offer 50% off on the last day of the sale. It’s hard to wait that long but well worth the wait because the prices really come down. I bought a beveled glass carved cabinet worth over $1700 for $125 because no one wanted to move it out of the house. I love that kind of bargain. I do like the texture you are putting on the bowls and pots. It reminds me of the antique pieces that were uncovered in Pompeii when the archeologist were working the site. The candle holder turned out beautifully as well. The spindle took on a look of bark to me. Loved it. I enjoy watching you change the look of rooms for the seasons. In the past 3 1/2 years I have remodeled 3 houses. The last remodel was a full upstairs remodel…then the downstairs was remodeled to use as another house. We made that decision because we were taking care of my Mother and felt the downstairs was easier access to the outside for her. I sold 3 houses and made excellent returns on them. Now I’m tired and just want to go to a few sales and change things up seasonally in my space. Thank you so much for allowing us to go along and enjoy seeing a new take on items you gather at these sales. You have a great eye for design.

I love the beautiful results of your stone process. Your table is gorgeous. I just found 3 antique wooden bowls at an estate this morning for $10. One bowl is huge which isn't an easy size to find. I also found a large hand crocheted table cloth for $1 at the same sale. Its so much fun. I live in Arizona. I stayed in London for a month in 1966. Back then you could touch the stones in Stonehenge. I also got to see the New Forrest. I am not sure if that was the proper name. My English friends gave me an original English Sooty puppet when I was about !0 years old which I st😅 24:37 😅ill have. The gentleman that worked on the TV show with Sooty just passed away a few weeks ago. I read that a Sooty was auctioned and sold for 17,000 pounds.

Hi Tracey so far I have done six vases and some candlesticks used filler chilli coffee and dried onions plus some left over paints they turned out great thanks to you sharing your ideas with us looking forward to see what your going to do today hi all 😊

Oh wow Christine you have been busy!! Re your question about finishing them… you could use a spray Matt varnish if they are in high touch areas otherwise i would just leave them be. Hope that helps!🥰
