Hi Susan, I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I absolutely love watching your videos. It gave me a thrill to see the picture by John Cunningham you found. I live on the island of Arran where he painted it. In fact, the view hasn't really changed much! Many artists came to Arran to paint in Corrie around the time he was there, but I didn't know about this artist. It's great to learn about him. I think the picture looks beautiful in your home.

Although I don't always comment after each video, I have watched every video shown since I discovered you years ago! It doesn't matter what the topic is, there is always something of interest to me, and you make your presentations so pleasant and enjoyable. Those people that had seen your channel were not your tribe. I have to tell you something. I have never really cared for beach scene pictures but when I saw this picture, it really brought up some strong feelings in me. No picture has done this to me. I felt such joy and happiness from looking at this painting. What a treasure! I also wanted to tell you that the note also has a wonderful scripture on it. Thank you for sharing your thrift store finds, your precious and handsome boy, Desi, and your wisdom with us! My teenage daughter loves to browse thrift stores and antique stores with me. My favorite find was a tiny porcelain boar with a chipped foot that even though he was priced at $5, I knew he needed to come home with us. My daughter found a pair of earrings (also priced $5) and the store clerk gave us the porcelain boar for free! He now sits in a place of honor among a few other miniature animal figures on a corner shelf in our living room. It’s the little joys that we seek out each day that make all the difference. I’m by no measure a success by the standards of today’s society. But when I look at my daughter and the beautiful thoughtful and talented young woman she is becoming, I know that my husband and I are doing something right. ❤️ I don’t believe in failure. Each day is another opportunity to try again and find success in the little things that truly matter. ❤️

I’m obsessed with your painting! I would have brought it home too. I love Impressionist art. I haven’t had much luck thrifting in Hawaii, but I had some great finds when I lived in Oregon. I also love garage sales. I wish I had a purpose I was passionate about. I pray daily that my purpose is revealed. I also tend to focus on my failures on ignore my successes. Omg, how funny/odd was your interaction with your 'fans' haha. You kind of wonder why they even said hi. Reminds me of my recent trip to a really cute knit shop last week. The shop owner and associate were so dead pan and not verbal it was actually funny. Me I was so glad to have lived through a pandemic and lung cancer, I am happy to be anywhere !! The salesperson even was on her phone scrolling almost the whole time, cept for 1 min to ring up my purchases. Oh well, I had a great time.

When I go thrifting I feel so relaxed and excited at the same time. What I love about thrifting is that you never know what you will come across. Some days I come out of the thrift store empty handed but other times like today I found some treasures that I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them. One of the things I bought today is a coffee table exactly just like my grandma used to own and I paid just 8 euros for it, unbelievable but true. Thrifting is magical for me! I know I’d be beyond thrilled if I had met you. Those people showed a lack of joy. You always find such beautiful art when you thrift. That pinched top pitcher from Williamsburg was a larger one than I had years ago. I haven’t been in a thrift store in many years. I used to go a lot with my Mother. My favorite things to find were little pitchers. I had a collection of them but I eventually got rid of them. I’m sorry I did. Now if I want something old I go to eBay. My favorite thing I bought were poodle bookends. I also have a porcelain tray by Nippon on my bureau that holds some small perfumes. My favorite Christmas item was a pair of gold deer made in the 1960’s. I had a pair that my Aunt Sylvia had given my Mother. I eventually inherited them. Somehow they were lost about 5 years ago. I searched eBay & found them from 2 different sellers. I was so happy. Have a wonderful Halloween. I don’t get any more kids coming to my apartment. It’s so sad. I loved dressing for Halloween as a kid. My Mother sewed me some amazing costumes. Love you, Lucy

In a past video you mention most viewers comment when they have left something and you were not quite sure why that was? Well, whether you realize it or not you have a God given gift. You are a natural therapist & encourager. I haven’t necessarily quit anything, married 40 yrs, raised 7 kids & now struggling to drastically downsize. My husband and I r staying in our large home, wanting only want we need. For me, I had it in my mind minimalist living was the way to live these days. So many treasures I’ve sold or given away. Through watching ur videos & ur passion and emotion you have through items & ur surroundings really interested me. I realized I’m NOT passionate or emotional about the items in my home. Once I complete downsizing and upgrading bathrooms, kitchen & things, I really want to rethink about adding back some decor items that really move me. Things that bring the best out emotionally, bring calm & even energy. I loved thrifting, but had stopped. I'm so excited to go to the thrift stores!! I can purchase treasures at a small price and I never know what cool items I might find!! I love the wooden bowl that you found, I have a wooden dough bowl on my coffee table filled with sea glass (beach treasure) some shells, and old glass door knobs from my old house! It's fun! It seems anything traumatic in our past stands out so clear in our memory - all of the good everyday things don't stand out, as much - once we are older, slowing down some, we are more mindful of each moment and have time to focus on gratitude for each gift life presents us with - it's an important lesson, for young and old, to slow down, be present and notice all that's good! 👍👏💗

Would you believe that I, too, am from Grand Rapids MI? Yes I was born in Butterworth Hospital 87 years ago last July. I love watching you each and every week and seeing the beautiful scenery in our area. I’ve been in CA since I was 5 years old and have visited GR only a few times since then. Also love purging back to 2 of my fave places that help women get out of addiction and trauma and the other helps homeless people have homes. Do you purge from time to time?
