Why do I relate to all the furniture in your videos? "In pretty bad shape, but worth the effort." "More trouble than I thought at first." "On to plan D." "Still, I think it turned out really nice." 🤣

I suffer occasional heart arrhythmia. They're not dangerous, just unpleasant, but I've found, completely accidentally, that watching one of these videos brings my heart rate down, I kid you not 😂 Also, thanks for showing the whole process, not just the bits that work. Seeing plans A through D is really informative. Damn, I love your channel.

I use Dashners videos to wind down at night so I can fall asleep. And it is not because the videos are boring, far from it. His voice is like that of a kids storybook teller, hypnotizing you to rest. The Bob Ross or Mr. Rogers of furniture restoration.

I am impressed by your endless patience and innovation. Maybe it is an unlikely comparison, but it reminds me of my sewing days where it seems like you spend more time tearing out work you have done just to do it all over again. It is tedious and frustrating. You deal with it much better than I could. Such satisfaction in the end, the cart is beautiful.

I’ve watched a few of your videos now, and I just wanted to share how incredibly impressed I am with your work. Not just the woodwork, your videos are very high quality as well! One of the many things I love about what you’re doing is that you are teaching people to treat objects preciously. Respect to the materials, to the history, to the time it took to craft things in the first place. People like you directly contribute to humanity having living forests instead of dead wastelands of Depleted previously forested soil. Preciousness of one thing leads to preciousness of so many others. And you then go further by sharing your techniques and skills with humanity so others may be valued and valuable in the way that they also are empowered to restore things. You have made preciousness out of your knowledge! All with a gentle demeanor and calm patience to take the time to do something well, without chastisement of others wastefulness, simply leading by example.

Love the persistence. Try working with hide glue next time for the veneers. No need to go with the glue pot route and all the gear. You can use the Old Brown Glue for convenience and has all the same advantages. It also has the advantage of not interfering with finishes. So much better than the PVA for this application and the smell is no where near that of contact cement. Please try it. Watch a few videos if you haven't seen the process with working with a veneer hammer. I've pretty much switched over to hide glue for most things I build now. It is also nice that it is easily reversible. I always enjoy your videos. Best.
