I have to say that your experience with furniture at thrift shops is way different from mine. We've been told that "if it's brown, it's down" on the market because parents can't get their kids to take their prized brown furniture. Which is really weird because there's never anything worth salvaging at the thrift shop. What they have is massed produced, bulky, worn-out '80's stuff (rather like what was in your image) and certainly not anything that I would want in my house even if I did repaint or refinish it. For example, I'd love to find an old say 1960's Italian provincial dresser or hutch.

I love that picnic basket!!! My brother found a designer sofa at the thrift store for $10 for his first apartment. It’s a gorgeous sofa lol Ive been trying to convince him to sell it to me. He’s 22 and doesn’t need a couch that nice

Keep the breadbox as is. I saw one just like it on another video that had been painted light blue. Yours is perfect as is. I enjoy your videos because they’re so informative. Some of the DIY videos are all about toys and children’s items which are alright if that’s what you’re interested in but I like decorating my home in my own adult personal style.

GREAT EYE!!!. i LOVE ALL YOUR FINDS. For the BREAD BOX, you could alternate paint/ distress each roll top section with different colors either soft colors or brights that have been toned down and aged. The outside can be a flat black. Or just leave it white. but I think it could be fun to do the different colors or even same color palette with graduated color changes.

For your bread box… My sister refinished one that was metal and she took strips of scrapbook paper and glue them on each panel of the moving front so it looks like one sheet of paper and it’s just a really simple print but it looks so pretty in her kitchen and then I think she Modge podged over the top to seal it

You can talk to someone about the pricing at DI if you think something is over priced (especially if it's broken or dirty) and they'll usually mark it down for you! I did this one time with a furniture peice that was in rough shape and they gave me $20-$30 off! It never hurts to ask! 💕

My mom works at a thrift store and she brings home all the good brands of clothing and hand bags. We have gotten lots of designer jeans for less than $20. Also lots of designer bags and scarfs. Love the thrift store

Wow your thrift stores are way cheaper than ours here in Australia...but I will go check them out on Mondays ...you are so clever at doing them up ...problem here is everyone wants second hand done up stuff for nothing , so I give most stuff away for free ,so I'm buying stuff and giving my things away for nothing ? Great tips Ashley 😊 Love the china closet and the coffee table makeovers ❤️ Onto the breadbox...I have one and I’m going to chalk paint and use on my coffee bar and put my powdered creamer, sugar, sweetners, etc and tea bags. It will cut down on my clutter there and I think make a real statement piece. Have a great weekend ☺️

Growing up in Southern California, we always went to the DI. Even though I don't practice their religion anymore, I still give them all my donations. Everytime we go to Utah to visit, going to the DI is one of my things I love to do. Utah's DI's are the best. We recently moved to Texas and it makes me sad that their aren't DI's here. No other thrift store can compare.

I would paint the breadbox white, maybe distress it, and put black lettering on the roll top part, or paint the word BREAD on that part. I think that would look so cool! I'm really into the farmhouse look right now,

I would Chalk-Paint the Whole Bread Box, Distress it, then Use It as an Appliance Garage, for a Small Appliance that you Use Alot, but really Don't want to Look at it, like the Toaster. Love Thrifting . . That's My OUT !!! I have Re-Done Alot of Thing's. Painted a Diningroom Set, and Changed the Cushion's. LOOK'S Like An Expensive, New Set !!!
