@@brookedonnellyliving I've always thought that these frilly decorative glass dishes would make stunning candles. So glad someone is actually doing it!! It would be too expensive for the viewers overseas like me to get them shipped to UK though. But I'd love to watch how you will make them. Best of luck in your venture! Hope you get a nice little side business going. So much better to reuse older well made items than some cheap looking reproduction they use in modern candles, even the very expensive ones. Yes! This will be my second candle collection, I just love that it gives these unused glasses a new life! Unfortunately yes it’s too expensive to ship outside of the U.S. ( more than the candle is even worth!) but thank you so much for your encouragement 🥰

Absolutely love everything you found on your trip. So many great ideas to use that brass base glass bowl. Use them to hold my face cloths in my bathrooms all the time. I change my different glass containers out quite often lol. Excited to see new candle collection this fall.

@@brookedonnellyliving Not as good as what you have in the US !! British are only just waking up to decorating with vintage and they are mostly young people in big cities who learn about it on Pinterest and Instagram. Or from American KZbin channels like yours. I'm probably one of the very few Brits of my generation (not revealing my age as Ladies never do ! Haha but I've frown up children) who even like older items as people of my generation and older are getting rid of this "junk". It goes to charity shops sold for half a dollar and still nobody buys it apart from me and a few of the younger women. And antique dealers who then sell it for a lot on Ebay etc... Sadly, a lot of it just gets thrown away 😫

That’s crazy that there isn’t the same demand for it there as here, here it’s getting fought over! Like it’s almost hard to find great true antiques here and when you do most people mark them up significantly because they know the demand!

I love the little 2 handed glass candle idea. Id but that if the candle was vanilpa or maybe coconut. I like light natural colors.

I will definitely have a vanilla! And I don’t use dyes so all my candles are light colored and classic for the glass vessels because I totally agree with you! 😉👌🏼❤️

I live 15 minutes from Canton First Monday flea market. Yes! The fields in the back are the BEST place to get AMAZING deals. 🤗🤗 Such a treasure hunt. And the permanent vendors inside are such lovely people. For anyone going, be sure and check out Thee Olde Apothecary booth. You will not be disappointed. I can’t believe you were able to only show such a few minutes of your time there. 😁. It’s easily a two day experience!

I have a similar glass dish w/brass base. I fashioned a bird nest with neutral pick berries & moss & placed a sweet bird in it.

I had that dish with the lid in blue. After I sold it I saw some on Etsy maybe or Pinterest with candle wax. I can’t wait to find more so I can make candles! They also come in amber The brass has carving because it comes from India. I love anything that looks like a trophy. A trip to a Flea like that is my favorite!❤

Wonderful idea to use glass pieces to make candles out of. I collect old quaint teacups and am getting ready to make some candles out of those. I would get a glass plate and put it at the bottom of the crystal/brass piece. Then stack pillar candles at different heights inside. You can add greenery and berries at Xmad time. 😁 The plate will catch the wax, and give the candles a flat surface to stand on. Maybe 3 pillar candles. You could also put it in a bathroom and fill it with beautiful soaps. Or again, put a glass plate inside and put in a hand soap and hand cream dispenser, etc. The sky is the limit. I love rumaging at flea markets fir bargains. But, yes, curated items are more expensive unfortunately. It takes the fun out of finding those afforable bargains. I love the crock, the sled, and all your finds. Of course you can style the sled with greenery and candles, add a pop of red with fresh red apples, twine, pine cones, white pillar candles at different heights. Look on youtube for Xmas decor ideas in Germany. Although I am English, they are brilliant with sleds and Xmas decor in general. I collect all the 2nd hand decor magazines to get ideas. Enjoy. I can tell by the parking lots that it was a slow day at Canton and I doubt all the vendors were even there. I go there quite often and am disappointed that you did not get to visit it at its peak but it has been so hot here in Texas. That will make one fancy candle holder!

Yes! The temperatures of over 100 definitely deterred people and vendors I think because a lot of the lawns were empty. Being from S.C. and used to high humidity we honestly didn’t mind the dry heat so much haha, and we still had a good time looking around. But I would love to see it in its full glory one day!

Is there any way you could show an up close picture of the can of black paint that you use for all your painted wood furniture, it looks so good and does it hold up pretty good on all that you do, thanks if possible, I love to watch you, very talented?

Thank you so much! Believe it or not it’s just Walmart brand paint, basic semi gloss black. 🤣 but I would say it holds up pretty well considering I don’t typically don’t use primer or probably the right techniques to get it to be really durable.

@@brookedonnellyliving Round Top is a little more of a splurge, also in Texas. Highly recommend you look into it - it is a huge Antique fair that they host 3 times a year. I think it is only a few hours away from Canton, TX
