Those nutcrackers were so adorable! I think I may try this technique on some wall art I have in my garage. I love black with brass or gold highlights. Great idea!

I purchased a 32 inch brass tray with a metal table frame under it for $20 at a neighbors yard sale. It was given to her uncle in the 1950’s when he worked in India for many years. The tray was very dirty so i used Murphy’s oil soap in warm water and a very soft toothbrush to clean it. It didn’t damage the brass. But got out the dirt in between the scrolls and designs.I don’t have a place for it in my house but am hoping my daughters will use it someday.

Make sure you bake your pine cones in the oven so you don’t get some bugs coming out of them

Love, love al the upscales! I used to have 150 nutcrackers until i gave my daughter-in-law the majority except the ones i couldn't bear to part with! But i have wanted to redo a couple of them, either white or metal, looking like you did! They turned out great, and it was not hard to do! Thanks! It may have just been whitewashes initially, not sure. But I loved how it turned out. You could always lightly sand if needed I guess too!
