I'm hoping to make it to the Sunbeam Vintage meet-up! For this reason, I will be traveling and living out of my van that my husband built out, so I can pick all the great places and not have to pay for hotels. Do you have any idea if I can get away with parking in a lot? I don't want to show up unprepared, but I can always ask. The tail on that turtle grater is used to scrape all of the coconut out of the shell. It scrapes it into finer bits than the usual shreds. Love your channel!❤

The carved wood lady it might be a cuban art, that's la Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre or Oshun (santeria) She is one of the most popular and venerated Orishas. Oshun is an important river deity among the Yorùbá people. She is the goddess of divinity, femininity, fertility, beauty and love. She is connected to destiny and divination. Ọ̀ṣun.

I've done more refinishing than I care to remember! Seriously though, the best stripper I've ever used was called 'Dad's'. I'm not even sure they still make it. I used so many tools to get into the nooks and crannies. Even toothbrushes did a great job, but I'm sure you know that trick. I love that mirror and think you will get a lot of satisfaction when you're finished. It doesn't look to be coated with layer after layer. When I was 21, I bought an old fashioned barber shop that looked just like the last day the man closed shop for the day not knowing it would be the last day. I refinished the wood back bar that was so intricate and beautiful with probably 10 layers of paint. I thought I'd never finish! It turned out to be the most beautiful oak with the antique Barber chairs. There was even a framed poster of Bob Dylan that said; "Beautify America, Get a Haircut." Apologies for the short novel! Good luck with that amazing mirror!

Just a little note - that brass candlestick, it's Skultuna, if someone wanted to find something of theirs for themselves (they make beautiful brass pieces!), it'll be easier to find them with the correct spelling! But the thing I absolutely loved in this video, is those two tiny Alaskan baskets, so beautiful! I love native craft (though I collect Sámi craft), and I loooove anything miniature! ♥

All my research online is showing that the candlestick is in the style of designer Pierre Forsell for Skultuna but not the real deal so I’ve held off saying it’s for sure that company to not misidentify. Have you come across one within any label before? So curious if it really is 😁 It sure feels high enough quality to be but I’ve yet to find anything showing it really is. ❤️

I can only find similar candlesticks as well, not the same. But I'm just saying that in the listing you showed, Skultuna was misspelled (which Swedish names often are internationally), and I thought I'd make it easier for people to go look for Skultuna's beautiful brass pieces! 😊

I am semi creative person made several chip stone planters one year out of one 30 lb bag of cement and gravel i collected and washed. i got two 12 in across at the top 3 8 in across at the top and my 3 grand kids ec made 4 in across pots. all that for 8 dollars in cement and 3 and 5 days drying time. WE used ice cream buckets and plastic food containers for the smaller ones. We live in an area that has a lot of "trap" rock which is a very dark black rock, (it is a river rock from the ice age which borders MN and WI along the St. Croix River coming out of Duluth MN and Superior Wi and Lake Superior) the Trap Rock mind shut down so you can go there and get all the gravel you can carry. Of course these pots are priceless to me because of the time shared with the grandkids and our memories. Surprisingly they look just like the picture of your planter here. I did add black cement paint to the cement which I had on hand so I did not put it in the cost. It was only a small amt. anyway. I LOVE THE MONKEY THINKER STATUE!!!!

Im pretty sure the wooden sculpture is Nuestra Señora de San Juan de los Lagos (Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos), my great-grandmother had a similar figurine on her dresser. The history of this Virgin goes back more than 300 years, who knows how old this figure can be!

Wonderful video! The small religious figure reminds me of "The Infant of Prague" figurines which are popular with our Roman Catholic faith. I have one of my Mother's which dates from the 1930s. And I love how you turned the ashtray into a candleholder. Looking forward to the next video.

The brass turtle 🐢 is a coconut 🥥 grinder from the tail side n lower end as ginger grinder and the rest for vegetables grinder . They are mostly use in different parts of India. Put a tarp down. Remove the mirror from your white frame. Paint the wood with a stripper of your choice. Once it’s ready to remove the paint take very soft shavings and rub it all over the wood focusing on the deep crevices. Be generous. Just let the shavings drop onto your tarp. You will have a mess of shavings stuck to the wood at this point. Now paint the wood with stripper all over again and when ready, just rub😢 the shavings onto the wood again. All of the paint should then wipe right off. This works very well with even Victorian flowered furniture.

My mum has a coconut grater and in my experience the Crocodile's tail is for scraping/separating the coconut meat from the shell. Hope this helps!

I love when you find the Danish wooden ware! I grew up in Germany, and our whole dining room was decked out in the stuff - I especially loved our salt/pepper grinder-in-one as it holds the most memories. We had the ice bucket, salad bowls and large salad holder, cups, bread, meat, and cheese boards with a cute cover for the cheese, and a round magnet inset into the board to hold the cheese knife, serving ware, you name it! Tugs on the heart strings!

WD-40 makes metal zippers like new! I like the pens if you can find them. Otherwise, spray on finger, go along zipper between finger and thumb. Start zipping slower then faster, reoiling as needed. Lasts a long time before re-oiling anytime soon.

I think the small tightly woven baskets have flowers on them, even though flowers usually are drawn with 5 petals, yet a butterfly has a body and I didn’t see a body! Haha, my opinion. I love those two little mirrors you found, the blue soapstone is amazing, and the little horse is fabulous, but the two coiled baskets are amazing. Definitely flowers, and definitely beautifully coiled. It's an enjoyable technique, but done tightly as those were, can be quite hard on the hands. Mine won't take that technique anymore.
