I've been going to charity shops since the 1970s at one time my family had a limit of £1 per person as we had so many presents to get (large family). To give you an idea when I started work in 1971 I earned £12 a week!

Where I live we have very popular Facebook groups where unwanted stuff in good condition gets given away to whomever wants it, so the charity shops don’t usually have much good stuff. This year I’ve given away a heater, rigs, carpeting leftovers, clothes, brand new ice skates, craft stiff, crockery- and more. I’ve received a brand new halogen cooker ( when my kitchen was flooded it was all we had) a clothes after, bedding and Christmas tree for my ex, brand new child car seat, curtains- I can’t even remember most of it!
