30 GARAGE SALES! | RESELLER VINTAGE | GOLF CART SHOP WITH ME
The shock of getting up at sunrise is the price we pay to be first to shop at this first-ever community-wide garage sale at this huge over-55 development! But can you find antiques in a trailer park? With 30 different sales (including an estate sale and a few moving sales) among a group of seniors, we hope there's a chance we'll find some vintage buys we can flip for a profit.
We start on foot at a friend's house, where a Victorian frame, vintage shakers and a gold dresser box with a surprise start our shopping quest. Next door, a full-on estate sale proffers yesteryear's furniture and tshotchkes, kitchenware and even freebees that all have reseller profit potential (and at prices as little as a quarter apiece!). We pass a lot of good new items in boxes that our non-vintage resellers should come grab as well!
Another friend rides off with stacking chairs in her golf cart, then comes back to whisk Beau the poodle and I around to a moving sale (Hall China teapot for $5), a junk sale (four highway signs at $5/each) and a bunch of other vintage bargains. We run into another "friend" from my book that I haven't seen at a garage sale in years! We also run into a great way to illustrate real versus fake McCoy frogs, and a few other good examples to help us tell vintage from reproductions.
Besides the sheer whimsy of shopping by golf cart in a gated community, the most fun and surprising part is how easy it was to accumulate a fun pile of reseller goodies at garage sale prices...all in one place! Community sales are an awesome way to shop for reseller fare (and we might even keep the triangular 1960s shelf for awhile).
Here's a few of the things we see from our golf cart vantage point:
Hollywood regency box, 1962 Seattle World's Fair spoon, oil painting in Victorian frame, Santa & Mrs. Claus shakers, eggplant shakers, 1960s-70s Tupperware, Metlox coffee pot shakers, 1970s burl clock, 1950s hand mirror, globe, cassette box, yard art and tools, Pfaltzgraff Yorktowne tureen,
1950s poker chips, art glass paperweight, Corning Ware, silver plate, Mt. St. Helens ash glass, Capodimonte flowers, Mickey Mouse Applause teapot, Fenton custard glass bud vase, cloisonne pill box, Wade turtles, lamp work deer, 1960s modern bedroom set, 1960s nesting lamp tables, 1920s music cabinet, 1980s brass table set, 1940s end table, 1960s Beethoven metal statue, Swedish stoneware figure, Zap Car, vinyl records, Tom Clark figures, Royal Albert chintz cake plate, elegant depression glass, 1980s boom boxes, vintage scarves, DeLongpre print, vintage lamps, regulator clock, washboard, Seattle print, Karastan carpets, 1920s stretch glass bowl, costume jewelry, iron garden cart, Betty Crocker recipe file, paperweight vases, etc.

I have a huge collection of the Corning Ware Blue Cornflower pattern. At least 50 pcs. (bakeware, casaroles, fry pans small and large, bowls with handles and lids, cake pan, loafs pans, tea pot, ccffee pots etc..) Including the white hot plate to cook in which I do. I use all of it pretty much exclusively. Love it.

@@wizphotogirl You obviously missed my point if you think I am judging trailer parks. The video starts out by saying people shouldn't be afraid to go into trailer parks and they can find good things to buy there. That sounds pretty judgemental to me. I know there are many great "trailer parks." And most of them are no longer called "trailer parks" and haven't been called that for decades. They are called manufactured homes. And the park he was at is called Belmor Park Golf & Country Club and has a has a website - check it out.

I literally gave away a Rosamor service for 24 (full formal service, including serviceware) to a thrift run for the local women’s shelter. It was my gradmother’s and it killed me to let it go. Nobody else in the family wanted it, and I’ve moved it 4 times in 9 years-and not used it. It was time.

I agree about finding things in trailer parks. Of course, how the park looks gives you an idea of the quality of the items (honestly). I've learned that in the years I've been hunting at yard/garage sales. I was at a community trailer park sale years ago when I found an ashtray from Pizza Haven. I had recently met my now partner and he had shared with me the story of the restaurant (including the time he worked there). I asked the lady how this ashtray had made it from Seattle to Phoenix, Oregon. I loved hearing her story. Its fun how things move around!

Good evening, George! I'd have had to dug through that fishing tackle box. I like the old lures. Were there any old ones in it? I have several $1.00 poker chips from the QE2. I liked that candlestick phone paperweight. It would be nice just as a novelty item. I'd like to have that Jeannie C. Riley "Harper Vally PTA" album. I'd love to have that Seth Thomas regulator clock! There is a clock repairman close to me, so if it needed anything I have somewhere to take it. That stretch glass piece was a pretty blue. I've never owned a piece of stretch glass. I have a couple of the sick call crucifixes. You racked up, George! Those were fantastic buys! That looked like a really fun community sale! 12:25 That horse for $3 looks like one that I have from Mexico that sold online for $50. So many cool little pieces. That cloisonné trinket box was one of my favorites. 14:26 Those frogs are a quarter!!?? The one in back is a Talavera and should easily sell for over $100.

That was different but good. I love yard sales, but haven't been to any in a while. The last one i went to near my neighborhood a man had this massive amount of stuff that was his recently passed dad's, so it really was kind of an estate sale. He let some really nice things go very cheap & threw in alot of freebies! Btw, luv'd the triangle table!

I'm so glad you are enjoying the tables! We'll have to get to yard saleing sometime. It's nice when the family are generous like that in an estate sale
