#ThriftingOnTheSun I applaud your son Shawn for sticking with you throughout that thing. I mention flea market around here (like Trader's Village) in the Texas heat and my wife and son look at me sideways and think I've lost it. Maybe I'll mention it again in the fall. 17:44 - I grew up with all of the Alien movies (showed Aliens in a 4th grade classroom, that was a trip), Poltergeist, Exorcist, etc. But I was extremely mature (had to be) for my age. My son, we can't do the same thing, we have to be slow. It's hard to explain unless you know him. Thanks for taking us along.

That John Waters set is still worth over a 150 bucks. If you ever see it again for 40 bucks. Pay that money, and throw it on Mecari.

Funny King Kong Story.... my mom was a girl when the movie came out (the first time in theaters)...and she went with her older sister (my grandma in the future)....they lived just outside of a tiny town in Iowa, and they walked into town to the movies. It was day light when they went, but of course dark when they came out...and they had to walk home. Mom said she and Carroll ran as fast as they could because they were so scared King Kong would be chasing them! Those are stories I love to hear and share...from times when things were around for the FIRST time... that history, no matter how trivial, needs to be shared and remembered.

When The Ring came out I went to see it at its last showing. It was actually the last movie for the entire theater that day. When I got there the theater was packed and I had to park at the very far end of the parking lot. When the movie let out I was the only car there. So I had to walk all the way across the parking lot alone in the dark. It definitely freaked me out a bit.

I love Shawn, he’s so intelligent and mature. Bless him! He got some nice stuff! I haven’t been to a car boot for aaages. I work on Saturdays and some Sundays. Maybe soon I’ll go to one and see what I can find 😊😊 the one I go to is huuuuuge and it’s possibly the biggest in the country, too. #thriftingonthesun 😂

They used to have a huge sale at the Aloha Bowl, I went when I visited years ago, they had cool stuff, I too have heard that thrifting is hard there.

I hate the heat. I went to Florida a few times in June and September we were not prepared for how intense it was. Same with Las Vegas. I’m happy with a nice 75f with a cool breeze.
