Such great finds, Janelle! The little bear cardigan is so cute! A funny story: years ago when I was in high school (US), I was involved in the theatre/music dept. One night, during a rehearsal for a play, I was backstage and came across a large wooden bin with some props. There was a navy, pure wool V-neck sweater in there, and I was curious, so I pulled it out and saw that it had an embroidery on one side. It was the outline of Australia, with a kangaroo and small Australian flag, and it was made in Australia as well. I couldn't understand why such a nice, unique sweater was doing in that bin, so I later showed it to my theatre teacher before the end of the night, and she said that I could take it home if I wanted to. I was SO happy! I wore that sweater for years. I don't remember what happened to it, but as someone who's had a love for travel since a young age, that sweater was a reminder of all the places I wanted to see around the world.

I love when you take us shopping with you! I usually don't use things for intended purpose so I immediately thought when you showed the egg plate how fun would it be to use it for buttons, bobbins, thimbles, small spools of thread, seam ripper, etc. Eggs or oysters will work too, lol🤣😉

Wow, I liked everything but the basket is my favourite find Janelle. The small patterned fabric would make a nice short-sleeved summer top and the larger patterned fabric would be nice for oven mits, pot holder, kitchen things I think.

That basket... wow, lovely. I too love baskets. Yes, warm jarmies out of the yellow floral. We used to call it "brushed cotton", back in the day.

Lovely purchases, Janelle. The diamond panel in the decanter matches the diamond pattern in the teapot. The basket reminds me of a four leaf clover. I would sand back the bedside drawers and restain it.

Hi Janelle, what awesome treasures you have found this time. Your op shops in Tassie seem to be quite outstanding. I wonder if there is enough fabric (yellow ditzy print) to make a simple blouse. I made a couple of blouses out of similar fabric this year and have got heaps of wear out of them, they're so cosy to wear. Love the tablecloth, ,keep it for your dining table maybe? ❤❤

Such lovely finds Janelle! An idea for that yellow floral fabric, you mentioned it was a bit flanel like, if I recall correctly, right? How about a Janelle Style floral flanel shirt? Something nice, warm and cozy for days when a sweater is too warm, but you need more than a long sleeve T-shirt?

I am the proud owner of a pressed glass deviled egg plate of the same color. The 50s-70s are rife with kitschy serving pieces. Vintage gems today! OMG I swear sometimes we think the exact same things! I snapped up a fab vintage tablecloth on Marketplace yesterday, and two framed cross stitch pieces. But I unfortunately missed out on a huge framed Laura Ashley rose print for $10, and a Brother nv1800q (used twice!) for $50😩 So now I’m inspired to hit Vinnies and Salvos this arvo. Also, Picnic at Hanging Rock❤️❤️❤️I first read old green hard copy from the library and fell in love. Next time you are in Victoria you have to visit it. It’s amazing to be there on the rock after watching the movie. Though the trek to the top is not for the faint hearted! The flannel style fabric maybe a Ganni inspired top with the ties, but more like a mini house coat. It could be the lining with a fleece?? Or cozy pillow case. The table cloth I’d make a table runner and napkins or placemats so you have a complete retro set for dinner party.

We have a set of 4 because my partner was born in Calgary in 1988, and his parents saved them for him. Make sure when you drink out of it, you drink with the toe down or sideways. Otherwise, a pocket of air will develop and you'll get your drink up your nose :)
