I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your enthusiasm and appreciation for the work of others! I am absolutely inspired to hit the thrift stores near me and “rescue” someone’s heart-filled project. Thank you (from the USA) for all the love - it is so desperately needed in today’s world ❤

Hi Kerry 👋 Wasn't it just beautiful? If I could sew... would be a lovely display piece, wouldn't it? Just glorious 😍 You're right, the graphs would work up beautifully as a cross stitch piece 😊 I'm too chicken to tempt yarn chicken, I always give up 😂🐔

I had one treadle I bought for my 21st b/day it was so one repair guy who came to do a service on it told me, a cobbling of a 1920s and 1930s machine. I probably in hindsight foolishly gave it to one of my sons so yeah :( they are beautiful to use. Maybe one day I will ge4t me another one or two or three even ;)

I've been grounded. I went to renew my licence only to discover that it had been suspended. Medical grounds. So meanwhile, I've been on holiday camping at a bayside beach in Melbourne, Australia. I have walked to the only one of 3 that had been open whilst here, but no yarn. Bugger. This is good 👍, in a way. It's made me save money and work on a project that I've been at since March last year. I should have the worst of it done by next Saturday, but it won't be completed. Mind you, I'm way further along than I might have been if I'd been able to gallivant around the peninsula down here, like I normally do. Catch you Mel.

Hiya 👋 I'm sad to hear that you've been grounded! I am glad that you were able to work on your current project though 😊 It sounds like a very detailed piece of work, can I ask what you're working on? Hopefully you'll get the chance to gallivant around again once it's done 😊 💗

@@MelsYarniverse one op shop I did get to, a Uniting Church one in Drysdale, I scored a bag of 10 skeins of washcloth cotton for only $7. That worked out to 0.70c per skein. All unused and still with their wrappers.

Ohh! I love thrifting for all things fiber ! Ive been very good and working on wips! I knit and crochet having taught myself with 10 cent books and bargan bin yarn at Woolworth 😂 Im currently finishing a Tunisian blanket, queen size in simple stitch Im very happy with the autumn colors of #5"and a soft fluffy yarn in alternating stripesI got it on sale over a couple years at Michaels Plus I got a cable set with coupon with birthday $$ ! In a visual learner as well ! Ive decided to expand my horizons by learning new stitches in knit and Tunisian Plus I an retired and wsnt to do some mindless work while listening to vlogs like this! I came up with my own pattern fir the blanket and its good to use leftovers! I did gi to the shop and order a lot of yarn for a gansey type sweater! Ive a book and its time! I have plans ti make a pair of fingerless mitts with some boogie yarn U thrifted for .99 cents each in merino and cashmere 😊 Its Italian and couldn't afford it otherwise! 👍💖

@robynwilliamson7066 Before I had to move house a couple of years ago, there were only two rooms in my house which didn't have yarn in them, the bathroom and the kitchen, chuckle. Sometimes, yarn would stop in the kitchen, but that was on its way to its resting place. Now it's all stored in containers up in my roof, except for the stash in my bedroom. I keep telling myself, "No more yarn," but I'm losing the argument, chuckle.

You got a great haul!! I went to our local craft resale shop and bought a few things but was completely disappointed with their yarn. It was really overpriced so I left it all there. My favorite score were the crochet and knit magazines I got for only 10 cents! That was a complete surprise. I love watching you op shop and I hope to see the stores fill up as the weather turns. Our stores were depleted too after the Christmas season. Can’t wait to see your progress on those projects!

You got a good price on the Doris Chan book. I quickly looked on Amazon and they want an arm and a leg for her books right now. I was fortunate to find three of her books at my local library. Thanks for the tip. Happy New year and take care.

Hey Mel, great video again! You always inspire me and I am currently working on a couple of scrap blankets. I make blankets for KOGO too! My family all have so many of my blankets now and it feels good to think that someone I don't know will keep warm with one of my blankets. Can't wait to see what you are making with the chunky yarn - i have some in my stash I could use ideas for 😍

Where the joins are not the best just do either a star in contrast or do a wee flower in contrast. Dont frog cos its short on blanky just choose a pink/yellow and finiash that way. Granny blankets are traditionally out of leftovers. Rest homes or wherever you donate will definitely appreciate no matter what. Ps girl yr kindness is incredible ❤😊😊
