@@jtsrecordroom3963 thank you! I may take up on your offer. I just completed move #23 this year. Augh! Got tired of packing and storing so I gave away 3 storage sheds of great stuff we’d collected over the past 45 yrs and almost two households of furniture. Made some needy families very happy. I’d love to start collecting my records now but the less I have to move and unpack the happier I am. I’m considering looking for a resource to find out which are the rarest or hardest to find. If I drive back to the west coast I’ll pass through a lot of towns and could make some good finds! Maybe I’m trying to talk myself into starting it now. Glad you picked up the ‘I left my heart..’ I have that album I picked it up for £2 a couple of years back love Tony Bennett what a talent he was. Also the Go-Go’s love that album. I’ve been in love with Belinda Carlisle since the 80’s. Saw her live about 4 years ago and she’s still smoking hot I was like a teenager again lol! Talking of beauties that Arthur Brown is a fantastic find - noice! Take care cheers

Did your Dad have any Return To Forever" albums ? Some excellent Fusion, for sure ! My Uncle Bob in SF would submit songs directly to Ralph Sharon , he always reached high, and Mr. Sharon would refuse to take on any of his songs.. Some were outstanding, by the way ! Go Go's and Bangles.. Love it !!! 😉 ( pkg is not here yet )

@@jtsrecordroom3963 no he didn’t I’m not sure I’ve heard any of their stuff I will check them out. I did inherit some nice early UK presses Elton John, Gerry Rafferty’s first 3 or 4 albums, some Eric Clapton and Dire Straits and a copy of War of the Worlds, which along with Captain Fantastic and the brown dirt cowboy sparked my interest in vinyl records in the late 1970’s. I’ve got my dad’s old turntable here I rescued it from the shed about 3 years ago and it had seen better days, but I’ve been gradually sprucing it up over time. After a new belt and service It works just fine. I just put a new headshell/cart on last week as well as a tonearm holder clip as the old one had been snapped off. It’s a Sansui SR-222 Mk 2 that my dad bought in 1978 for £70! The lid is cracked so that’s the next thing I want to fix. That’s very cool about your uncle you gotta just keep plugging away! No worries JT many thanks again

Man, east 4th Street was kind of a stomping ground for me. Dive bars galore - Big Ed's, Alturas, and a little further east there was a place called Area 51, for a while. Pretty sure I saw Deadbolt there one night. Saw Southern Culture on the Skids at Big Ed's when Bruce Van Dyke was a part owner there. Was on staff at the Bowling Stadium when they filmed 'Kingpin'. Lot of memories for me in that area.

We used to play at Area 51 back in 1999 ! One time.. with Sprout, a real good 3 piece band. We were Mary Underground from South Lake Tahoe ! I work on 4th, and was a Harrah's man for 7 years, or so from 2002- 2010 ! I was in a lot of action ( 9-Ball ) at Keystone, and Diamond Billiards down in South Reno.. I don't play anymore.. Too busy ! Thanks for this, and glad to have someone know just what I am speaking of !

Motel how classic we have one on route 17 ? and there also cool to me , Bobby Mcfarin 89 cents to 2.00 sounds like a decent deal , same with Tonny Bemet , go go's nice vacation , cream I remember when Mtv did their closet classic they showed Arthur Brown, So I left my heart in San Francisco is in your top 50 of that genre or top 50 including Rock? what do you think about the Band's album from 1977 their last album ?

You mention in your video that you have viewers that go thrifting but don't really find any records. Like most things in life timing is everything. Most people try to thrift for records on the weekends the worst time. That's when people are mostly off work when the compilation is the highest for finding records. The best time to go is on a Monday or a Tuesday early in the morning when they open. The weekend is the time when people make the donations, Monday and Tuesday is when thrift stores put the records out not the weekends when it's the most busy. It's like a hunting or fishing thing it takes patience but also going at the optimum time.

Good stuff.. I agree 100% !! I always try to help others in the way of not giving up, just enjoy the journey and flipping through titles help increase knowledge of record labels, condition, and ultimately.. finding good records. Also networking. I went out on Tuesday, bought 3 nice records for 10 dollars.. and a fellow offered to sell me 160 records. Next day, he brought them over, all NM vinyl and jackets, he took a hundred dollars. Chaka Kahn, The Commodores, MJ, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report on and on ! Networking definitely works, and I pass that on as well... So did Tuco !

Hey man is there anything going on with Tuco. I always enjoy watching his videos and he’s been absent For about 6 months.
@jtsrecordroom3963 Жыл бұрын
OK.. here is my idea on why he's not making vids.. First off, he seriously had the score of a lifetime ! That is a ton of records to curate ( price, clean, sleeve, keep or not keep ). Then.. him and his brother do record pop-ups to sell. His video making is very elaborate, takes hours and hours to edit. Also, his work ( driving ) is important.. now he can dig without having to film. but.. I bet he is a little bit, anyway. He has everything .. almost that he could possibly ever want, or need, and when he organizes and sells through stuff, he might be back. I miss him and his vids too ! I might be wrong, but.. I think I'm close !
@greghawkins229 Жыл бұрын
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Thanks for the reply. I knew he sold records but obviously more Involved than I realized. He did have a major score of a lifetime. I have had scores with Some great records but not at that volume with the quality he found.
