Good idea.. I have to tidy up a bit.. I have hundreds of records in the garage.. shelved in archival or u haul small boxes. Cd's in Bags Unlimited square boxes ( 80 ). Our dry weather makes for better garage storage. Thanks, Richard. I should do one, and I will.

I'm enjoying all of those Gram records ! Ted's house is great new honey hole, mostly all Tower Records stock, and pretty much unplayed, or very little ! I took an extra week off.. Great video JT and good Gram Parsons finds. Hopefully Teds House becomes a regular visit along with Bill's. I am a big fan of archival live releases of bands and have a good collection of bootlegs myself. I can identify with Ted providing CDR's with great sounding concerts, when you find a brilliant soundboard recording you want everyone to hear it! 🙂

Definitely spent plenty of time at Tower in Reno when I was there. One night I got off work and went over to Cal-Neva and hit a royal on a quarter video progressive for about $3500 and immediately headed to Tower and spent a decent amount on an impulse buying spree. Never knew Ted, but probably crossed paths more than a few times.

I used to work at Tower Records in Westwood which had 3 floors of music ( Its in a scene in American Gigolo ) & you could get a Promo of any major label & most independent label new releases by request & free concert tickets as well .. The pay ? ..just above minimum wage. Open 9AM - Midnight 365 days a year !

Did you ever notice how Emmylou always seemed to sing with the more imperfect singers....Gram Parsons, Neil Young, Tom Waits and so on. I always love the way her vocals stand out with those other singers. You have been quite blessed with the vinyl this year, following along now with both Bill and Ted's big vinyl adventures. Great job getting that International Submarine Band record....that is a tough one to get. That's a perfect setting to show your vinyl stash off in, out in the park. Wow, nice score with the Gentle Giant Freehand still sealed and an OG on top of that. I bet that Kinks EP would be worth a bit too. That Phil Manzanerra album is great, and nice job with that Aztec Camera, a tough band to find. Another great bunch of scores, you just keep hitting vinyl gold!

I'm not sure if the Gentle Giant is a first pressing, I will have to look it up.. Either way, I didn't have it, and at least its a 2nd press, and sealed ! True about Emmylou.. She's the fixer ! Haha for stylized singers. I will Call It Bill & Ted's Excellent Vinyl Collection, or.. The name that you coined. I have done well, that's for sure, Mike.. And I wouldn't have it any other way ! I love having too much to listen to ! I missed out on "Obsession" by UFO at Recycled Records, thought I had it.. But I did pick up some nice ones at my local indie . The Shiloh GP album is merely a re-release of the International Submarine Band album. Gram Parsons and Richard Thompson: you can't go wrong there!

What threw me off David.. Is the very different running order of the songs on the Shiloh release. In some ways it is an improved track listing of the original Safe At Home.. So, it's not merely a re release.. A re release in a different running order. I was involved in the families of the Byrds. Gene Clark's son and I were in a band together from 1993 - 2000. Partnered up with Kai right after his Dad passed away. Carlie Clark had so many terrific true stories of Gram, Gene, Chris, Michael, David and Roger... And Clarence ! Thanks for your fixing a mistake.. I edited " It is a comp" out of my vid.. Important to get it right.. And I do try !

A nice collection of Gram Parsons records, JT. I've got Sleepless Nights on CD, but seeing as I have all the tracks on other records I'm not going to get it on vinyl. It was a bit of a cheeky release. Apart from the two outtakes from Gram's solo recordings which were previously unreleased, the Flying Burrito Brothers tracks had all been released on earlier records. Those tracks were demos of country classics for what might've been the bands third album, but that was shelved after Gram was sacked. I'm not sure Safe At Home by the International Submarine Band really counts as country rock. It's essentially a bunch of long hairs trying to make a Bakersfield sound album. Much like Elvis Costello said in the liner notes to the Gram Parsons comp, they were playing it straight and bringing no rock elements to the sound. Back in the day it might've been called Mod Country, like a lot of country being produced on the West Coast. I love a bit of Tennesse Ernie Ford. Have you heard his 1965 recording of Sixteen Tones? Now that's closer to Country Rock than The International Submarine Band. Check it out! Cheers - Hedley

nice Gram Parson , never heard of the international submarine band,, nice Joan Jett , nice Kinks , nice Jimmy Page, nice Oliva Gram Parson with real hair questions 1. are my ears working Did I hear you say that you traded cd's for that record? if so you now lost some music to play out side over the summer? 2. it depends on what year you were talking about items cost less in those days but paychecks were less gas cost more because you had to travel everywhere since there was no ordering over the computer? if your refering to say 1976 ok records may be expensive but look at what a check was in those days it depends on what year your talking about?

I guess I have a big problem, because I just listened to Gram Parsons for the first time recently, and I did not like it! Richard Thompson, on the other hand, is fantastic. And, your thrift store luck continues!

I had an Opportunity to buy some John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Alice Cooper , Beatles, J Cash box set, plus Usual lot but had to buy all 560 records. Offered$1000. At least 200 were worthless. Crazy a “ collector” paid her $3500. I’m telling you they were Not worth that.She ( the owner) came out Way better than she would have if sold on day of estate sale. This guy also bought a jukebox For $700 too. I have an inside lead on estate sales in my area
