I enjoy going to thrift shops. I am a cookbook collector too Marie. That is an awesome price for both those cookbooks looks to be in excellent condition. If purchased new each would be at least in $25.00 to $30.00 range indeed. Great prices on other items in store also. What a great organization that helps so many individuals with being able to get their first home. Loved all the volunteering work the Carters did indeed. Enjoyed coming along with you all on your visit to store.

I love to go out and just look and shop at thrift stores. We have a nice one a few blocks away from my home. It is very clean and well organized. I liked those 2 cookbooks that you got today. They have that store set up so nice! Furniture is so expensive nowadays, we just bought 2 Lazyboy recliners and it was over $2000.00! My husband and I are both tall so we pretty much have to shop there. Update on my husband’s eyes, they are both doing great! He still has to do drops every 6 hrs., but that should change after awhile. God is good!! Thanks for taking us along!🥰

Those are some nice cookbooks you picked up, Marie, and you can't beat the price you paid. We have a store here called Pic and Save which was selling unused editions of the annual Southern Country Living cookbooks for $3.99 from a few years ago. I didn't buy it, though. Even if you don't buy anything, it's good just to get out and get some fresh air and sunshine. The Habitat for Humanity you visit has a lot of good stuff in it. We don't have one, but we do have a thrift store called Savers, but it doesn't sell any furniture. Take care.❤

WOW! That was a fantastic deal Marie. I take Southern Living magazine, comes in the mail each month. But, their cookbooks are great! That thrift store had a lot of bargains, I was surprised!!! Calvin did you go to your optometrist yet? P.S. Jimmy, this past Friday, Cancer Center gave him 2 bags of blood, and a chemo treatment. He got to where he could hardly go. He will do a scan this coming Friday! 🙏🙏🙏❤️

Thanks very much Susan. My eye appointment is this Friday. When Marie was taking chemo and radiation she had to have blood a couple of times. She was so weak that she was admitted into the hospital for the last week of radiation treatments and they transported her by ambulance to the radiation treatment each day. It was so nice when her treatments was over with and I could see her slowly start to get stronger. She was 62 when she went through this. I was fortunate that when I went through my treatments that I didn't have any blood problems. What age is Jimmy and is he going to have surgery after the treatments?

@SouthernCountryLiving they said it couldn't be done, because the tumor is so deep in his chest, they could never reach it. So all that's left to do is just to keep on treating him. But, Calvin even though this chemo is suppose to help him, they told us it is eating his blood!! That's why we were shocked he had to have 2 units of blood!!! I saw him stumbling some, and looked pale, and I told him he looked white like his t-shirt. It sounds like this battle between chemo and blood is, .... I just want to cry. I just don't understand, I mean I do, but I don't. Have you ever heard of this? You look so fantastic and wonderful, very healthy, and I am so proud of you and Marie.

@susanford4351 the chemo effects each person differently. Marie at one point was so weak that I had to use the wheelchair to take her in for her treatments. The chemo treatment is hard on the body but it is amazing that it can help the way it does. We are continuing to pray for you and your husband.

Life goal of mine is to thrift in the USA. I have thrifted in Japan and purchased Kimonos for myself and family. I paid ¥3300 which is cheap. But also just the gown part.
