THRIFTING OVER 55 Baskets! What do I use them all for?

Julie, I love that your baskets are not only thrifter decor, but function as containers for every day living, holding supplies that we use in our everyday life. Bravo👏❤️👏. Thanks to You when I find thrifted treasures, I now am thinking out side the box. My plastic toilet brush container broke, the brush was fine, so I needed to find a replacement for the brush holder. The other day I found a vintage ironstone large pitcher which a sweet floral transfer that matched colors in my bathroom perfectly. I placed the pitcher on a wooden stand and voila, I now have an elegant toilet brush holder. The pitcher probably had a large bowl, the set was used in bedrooms to wash your hands and face, before the advent of bathrooms and indoor plumbing. Certainly glad we all don’t live in that era😂😂😂. Thanks Julie again for teaching us all to think outside the box.❤️👍❤️

I once got an AMAZING deal on a “lot” (80) Longaberger baskets for $100!!!!! Plus I used to make baskets and teach basketweaving classes. So, I have them everywhere! I still buy them at estate sales and thrift stores when I see them. My favorites are big ones with lids where I keep toys for the grandkids! It makes me happy to see that you love baskets too!

Hi Julie...thank you for the basket ideas....and for me as well it's to hide and organize amidst the decor but i need much larger baskets it seems. LOL. Also whenever I would go thrifting I would grab a basket to carry my purchases out....again never large enough apparently. I love the idea of hiding stuff under and putting something decorative on top. My problem would be forgetting which basket I put stuff in..... perhaps some kind of label or cryptic colour coding would work....like a red pillow for tomato sauce...a green pillow for seeds or spices....Just my sense of humour.😊

Thanks so much for bringing us into your home. I love how organized it is. Love the idea of the speaker in the basket! I struggle with having to pick mine up to vacuum too. There's just no good place to grip those suckers! I also love your favorite basket on the ladder. It is rare to find dark colored baskets like that, and it is so creative how you hung it on the ladder verses a blanket or a wreath. Not a basket, but you have given me an idea of how to display my candle snuffers! They look so pretty in that white pitcher. And I love your typewriter stand in the homeschool room. So, so cute!

Years ago i collected peterboro baskets, I've had them stored for several years. Thanks for some good ideas, i think I'll be pulling out and working into some of my decor. I saw another YTr today that had placed a print inside a flat basket and i loved it, today must be Day of the Basket. Im always in awe of your vision for staging your decor.

Just turned on this video, my husband came into the room, heard you say how many thrifted baskets you have and said you and her are twins!! Funny thing is we each have a daughter named Kelsey and my grandkids also call me Mimi! I just thrifted an adorable basket at Goodwill for 99¢ and put it on a table by the front door as a place for everyone drop their keys in.

Oh, wait a minute wait a I just realized when you were doing the Vasquez that I have baskets all over my house there’s one in my living room, the holes of magazines and news and newspapers and stuff. Then there’s one there’s three in the kitchen one is with fruit the other one I have with bread and the other one I have that is filled with my dogs, medicines and goodies then in the bathroom, I have one that holds toilet paper in the first bathroom then in my bathroom I have four I have one that holds toilet paper one that holes like Q-tip said medicine that I need and then there’s one that holds my brushes and one that holds my cleaning for my eyes so I’m not I don’t have as many as you do but I have enough. Julie, I forgot totally divide another basket that I have in the first bathroom. That basket is full of seashells because my bathroom is with pictures of the ocean and there’s seashells on the walls. Also there’s a basket there that I have that I put my finger towels in and they cannot be touched by anybody because there’s another towel hanging that’s for Hannus only put my finger towels or not to be used lol.

Great ideas Julie! I had a random thought when you mentioned you use puppy training pads under the kitty litter box. Did you know you can buy reusable/machine washable puppy pads? They work better, look more attractive and cost less. I know you love to save money so thought I’d mention it. I’m potty training a puppy with them right now, probably why it caught my attention.😊
