Just tried to play this. It's... a challenge. I can select vehicles and steer, but not select tracks. Haven't even gotten into the transmission set-up so this video will help. Oh, did I mention it always goes into first person view? I'm assuming there is other views, but damned if I know what buttons to press to get them. -sighs-

You should be able to select tracts with whatever controls you use for the steering wheel. And yeah -- it auto goes into first person. Use the start button to change your view -- you've got first person, a behind chase cam, and a somewhat above chase cam. Those will be handy for seeing around vehicles, especially police! It also ups the curiosity score (Ambition in Thrill Drive 2). Gear shifting IS interesting if you're playing a version that uses the six-speed shifter. Some versions actually just use sequential shifting. I just went back to using automatic shifting though since having to work the clutch and shift using a controller is...very challenging. If your controls do feel off or awkward, and you're playing on MAME, use F2 to get into the operator menu and calibrate the controls. And yes! The game is HARD, but if you keep up with the driving and learn the courses, and learn how to keep track of what's coming ahead, you can get better. From my playing I've noticed that the larger vehicles, like cargo trucks and busses, are guaranteed accidents if you so much as touch them. Other vehicles not so much, like a sedan you can take your chances on with hitting. Now of course, if you're in the oncoming lane, that's a guaranteed accident waiting to happen --- but you DO up your "Courage" score. Geez this is a long comment! Sorry! Maybe I should just do a tutorial video on this ^^;
