For days that repeat themselves, I’d highly recommend Before I Go To Sleep by SJ Watson. It’s about a woman who forgets everything about herself when she goes to sleep (think 50 first dates) and she keeps a journal about her days to help herself remember. But while she’s journaling, she’s figuring out that someone isn’t telling her the truth. It’s an oldie, but it’s a classic. I always fly through it!

' I, Ripper' by Stephen Hunter is a good one! The book is set in a way where are you are in the perspective of the killer we never and the journalist who is supposed to be finding finding out the truth. The perspectives alternate between the killers diary and the journalist memoir.

For a clos-knit group of friends doing spooky things, I think Donna Tartt's The Secret History fits the description. And it's just an amazing book that has so much to offer. It's beautiful, tragic, and disturbing. For a mystery involving sisters, I would also recommend The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. It's a modern gothic novel and has books and writing among its other prominent subject matters. So if it seems like something you might like, definitely check it.

Hi, I just found you channel and I must say I really really enjoy your content. I have been searching for members of the booktube community to resonate more with in terms of opinion and preferences and I have finally found that here. I like man other booktubers but have felt disconnected and even though I love them, felt that I needed to find more. Especially since I found my taste changing as I am going into my late middle/late twenties. Your videos are honest and interesting, without feeling like their trying to be. Although I am sure you work quite hard. So thank you and yeah. Glad I found you.

If you want a beautiful ocean centred book try The Tender Line by Kate Allen. The cover just speaks to me on a huge level because I love the ocean and I love sharks. The book is a MG/YA that deals with grief and mental health but everything about it is beautiful.

For thrillers set in a boarding school I recommend The Broken Girls by Simone St. James. It jumps between 2 timelines and the timeline set in the past takes place at a boarding school. The school is still a large part of the present timeline, and it also involves sisters and there's a touch of paranormal. For cult thrillers, The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes. Thrillers for "beginners" I recommend The Hanging Girl by Eileen Cook, it's YA so it's more "light", it's not gory or scary. I would also recommend Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew Sullivan. Don't Try To Find Me by Holly Brown I think is a good thriller for "beginners". Thrillers with an unreliable narrator I recommend Before I go to sleep by S.J. Watson, Sweetpea by C.J. Skuse, and I Love You More by Jennifer Murphy.

I got halfway through both My Lovely Wife and Watching You but couldn't quite vibe with them. After hearing your recommendations for them I think I'll give them a second try. I wonder if it was simply I was listening to an audiobook and that wasn't connecting with me. I almost abandoned "Her One Mistake" by Heidi Perks but switched to the print version and it became one of my favorite books of the year. If you haven't read it, I'd suggest it. It seems like it would fit what you like. As for mysteries for people who get scared easily. I'd suggest cozies like Hannah Swenson series or the Agatha Raisin or the ten million other series available. You get the mystery aspect without a lot of the scares (or graphic sex or violence). I know they aren't for everyone and they aren't high literature but they a great introductory tool.
