Opening and closing from "Throb," a 1986 syndicated TV series created by Fredi Towbin. Probably inspired by the surprise syndicated success of "WKRP in Cincinnati," the show was about a single mother in her '30s who goes to work at a young-skewing record company where everyone is a little younger and hipper than she is. It did well in its first season but was canceled after the second season. It featured many musical performances in the studio by artists both fictional and real. Canova co-sang the theme song.

I remember watching this show back in 1987 on Saturday nights at 5 PM on KTVU channel 2 in California. It was a great lineup from Saturday afternoon until night time. Shows like small wonder, the all new Gidget, out of this world, secret identity, and of course this show, then the classic WKRP in Cincinnati, and of course double Dare believe it or not, then after that silver spoons. Boy! I had quite a Saturday night well, Saturday afternoon growing up.

The show was produced by Proctor and Gamble Productions, a division of Proctor and Gamble, and Taft Entertainment Television, a division of Taft Broadcasting. Both companies were based in Cincinnati (which was the setting of WKRP BTW) at the time of the show's production.

That also meant that two minutes of advertising were reserved for Procter & Gamble products; the rest were available for the local stations to sell to their own clients.

I remember an episode where Jonathan Prince's character and Diana Canova's character were having some sort of war where they were trying to embarrass each other (or something like that) and Jonathan Prince had her drivers license blown up to life size (like the size of a refrigerator) and brought it into the station to show everyone because she had a REALLY embarrassing license photo. Her hair was all messy and it looked like she was sneezing. For some reason I still vividly remember that!
