In an NPR interview with Yebba, it was mentioned that this video quickly went viral after it was posted. Ed Sheeran was one of the millions who watched it and it made him cry (so you're in good company, Richard). He sought her out and co-signed her to his label. But three weeks after she released this song, her mother committed suicide. So just as her career was set to skyrocket, she took time off to deal with PTSD and heal. Her songwriting and her singing comes from a place that is heart-wrenchingly authentic. She makes my love for music grow.

Yebba is a student of Gospel music. She has said that she’s inspired and influenced by many Black gospel artists. Thats what much of her talent mirrors. Ive always said she sounds like Kim Burrell, Dorinda Clark-Cole mixed with a little bit of Jazmine Sullivan.

Been going back to this song a lot just to examine the details more closely. Yebba's phenomenal voice takes control of " your mind" in an almost confrontational way. The haunting melodie of that guitar conjures an image of her crouched on the floor, arms around her waist rocking to and fro in an attempt to deal with the pain of betrayal. They are so effective in their storytelling that it is almost jarring when she ends with that dry " there's that" . Yebba obviously taps into her own true emotions because it feels very authentic and deeply personal in this specific moment in time. It wouldn't surprise me if this is a one off performance.

Even my thoughts have become still - wow. I have a request to another artist she is South Korean who at the age of 11 was awarded the title of National Treasure in traditional music she is amazing - she started at 5 years old to be trained. Today she is branching out into music she is creating all her stuff is wow. She also sang a BTS song they are said to have cried when they heard her version which is the traditional style mix. Her name is SONG SOHEE 1- "Spring Day" and another is 2- "Tearful Dooman River" pure traditional - 불후의명곡 Immortal Songs 2 - 송소희 - 눈물 젖은 두만강.20180825, . 3- "Forest Spirit" ( her latest music ) 4- kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHyueqJqYpudnpo a medley of 7 traditional songs - Song Sohee is also a wonderful soccer player that does flying kicks of the ball into the goal net - there is a video out there that shows her doing that .I hope you get to this artist she will surprise you.
