yes Jin originally wanted to hold the event outside and give a hug for anyone who showed up😭 he insisted on it for a month despite the company refusing for obvious safety concerns until they compromised with an indoor event with selected number of fans. They suggested 50 winners only for Jin to ask for 3,000. Then they said 300 to his 2000, and finally 500 to his 1000 which they ended up settling on 1000. The whole thing was his idea and he even asked that we don't hold it as a standard to the other members when they return lol

I get what you mean about Jimin's tone. Each vocal line member is a fantastic singer, and between the 4, no two sounds the same. That being said, Jimin's voice really cuts through the mix when they sing collectively. It is usually very easy to hear and identify his vocals. I liked the way you described them as shimmery (JM), warm (JK), crooney (V), and intense (?; Jin). I think Jin has a very pop rock feel to his voice.

I've mentioned it before with another account, but here are my recommendations. 1) I think the songs from the album "Wings" are absolutely phenomenal. The vibe is also different from the stuff you've seen so far, so it'll be a fun change of pace. My favs are "First love", "Stigma", "Lie", "Boy meets Evil" "MAMA" and "Blood Sweat and Tears" (so like... nearly the whole album lol) Each song has a short teaser video, where the members can show off their acting skills! The wings album was also one of their most influential albums and it really helped them skyrocket in 2016. 2) I heard y'all like Sugas vocal tone, so I also recommend seeing some of his live performances from his D-Day tour. They are incredibly emotionally powerful. especially his performances of Snooze, The Last, and Dear my Friend. I heard you guys like more grunge or rock-vibe, which he delivered amazingly. I heard some people in the chat recommend hobipalooza which is also great! Hobis got a great funky style, and the energy was amazing. Ps. If you do pick "dear my friend" I recommend getting someone to help with a little research/backstory. The song is extremely personal to him, it's about yoongis relationship with his old friend.

Every member really adds a certain character to the songs and it would not be the same if one was missing. I also agree on Jimin’s voice that we can only describe as a shimmer. It stands out so well and it gives trademark to their songs. No one sounds like him 😂 And I believe John’s bias is Jin.

WWH has come home!! I think this 2 concerts have been the best in decades: D Day from Suga and Hobipalooza from J Hope. Then, last BTS concerts from LA and Las Vegas are spectacular. And PROOF live is the coolest ever. Listening singing live in an environment without Armys screams, hahaha and without them dancing like crazy really let us hear their amazing vocals to the fullest. They look slick as hell.

33:58 Some things I think have made them be able to get along so well is the fact that they always, from the start, been free to do solo work is a big win for BTS. They have been able to compromise and make music together but then release their own stuff to where they have full creative freedom and can speak just for themselves and not for the whole group and I think that is really good. Another thing I think helps to keep their friendship is that they always seen each other as a team and utilized and admired each others strengths and individuality. They have also evolved with time, they have changed, the music have changed, they never put themselves in a box. I think that is important, we change with time and express ourselves different in different stages of our lives so the way we are and express ourselves through music or other ways change too. They also since the beginning have through their music and as a group read and explored about the human psyche, what is important, mental health, self love etc etc so they have been self aware and been able to talk among themselves and written very personal lyrics so they have formed a real bond. They also lived together in dorms for a long time. Bang PD also since the beginning made it a rule that if they fought even if it was just between 2 they would come together all 7 and resolve it. And they also just are very good people that instead of competing they admire and lift each other up like you do with family.

As a new fan, i will add one more factor which seasoned ARMY may not emphasize. I have seen BTS members often reference their respect for ARMY as an incentive to work very hard at getting along with each other professionally. The would be loathe to disappoint ARMY!

true with what you said about jimin´s voice. i have always decribed it as a female tone with a base sound ontop of it. when he was younger the base tone was less so it sounded more like a teenage boy when the voice shift between boy and man. someone also decreibs his voice as robotic in a beautiful way and baby like. idk there is no right way to decribe it. he has the most interesting and beautiful tones i have heard. it´s not always about how well you sing if your tone is horrible.

Yes, if you want to see the whole vocal lines full falsetto’s (even “V”) for most of the song, watch “Pied Piper) one of Army’s favorite, it’s usually played with “Dimple” right before it at same concert. Most reviewers do them together, Dimple first, followed by Pied Piper 💜

When this was shown I wondered why they didn’t do, Run BTS, which I was loving so much and then the Busan concert happened in the October and we found out that they were saving it to knock our socks off on stage. Born Singer, is a reworking of J. Cole’s, Born Sinner. They sang it very early in their career and the performances are always emotionally charged. I don’t know if they couldn’t get permission from J. Cole to release it but eventually it came out officially on Proof. J.Cole is J-Hope’s hero. The words have changed a bit over the years. Anderson Paak is of Korean heritage and his ex-wife was Korean so he speaks a little Korean. They recorded this while they were performing in Vegas.

Shimmering is a good term for Jimin's voice, I think. It's not whispery. Velvety? I read a comment somewhere from a musician working during the On Grand Central Performance who heard him singing in dance rehearsal. He said Jimin had extra harmonics when he sang.

Not really accurate. They kept the group house until then, when the lease ran out. All of them had their own homes for quite a while. At least since 2020, if not before.

He gave that one to his parents in 2020 and bought himself another unit in the same complex. I think V acquired his Apelbaum apartment in 2019, the same year that Yoongi bought into UN Village.

Born Singer is based on J. Cole’s (fantastic American rapper, j-hope’s idol, and collaborator on “on the street (with J. Cole)) Born Sinner. J. Cole’s original is about doing better and BTS’s version is about their hard times after debuting. I love that they did this song so early on; I think they released it on SoundCloud pretty soon after J. Cole had released his album. I also LOVE this live performance. The combination of their live vocals, the band, and the BACKGROUND SINGERS makes me so happy every time I watch this. It never gets old. And, yes, Anderson .Paak paired with Bruno Mars to form Silk Sonic. (Not the Bruno Mars band.) He, like Bruno, also put out some incredible music prior to that as a solo artist.

How the hug event came to be was so funny because BigHit did NOT want him to do it, but Jin insisted :D Jin fought for it until BigHit said "okay, but only 50 armys" and Jin said "No. we will be outside at a park and everyone will get hugs" but BigHit really wanted it to be inside and only 50 people. They went back and forth months until Jin said "Ok we can be inside, but I want to hug 3000 armys", Bighit said he should think of his health and body and insisted on the 50 armys and Jin negotiated that to 1000 armys.
